Ten staff fired over ridiculous radio water competition
5 on air DJs and 5 other staff have been fired from Californian radio station KDND 107.9 FM following the ‘Hold your wee for a Wii’ fiasco, followed up by a criminal investigation and a threat by the affected family to sue.

Ummm - can the radio station sue people for lack of common sense? Both their staff and the people participating in the competition?

Unfortuately there are no laws regarding common sense that I am aware of. The radio station managers had to approve this competition. Of course, who would think a person would drink so much and I personnally would not have thought of the water poisoning thing. I have heard of it but I don't even know how much you have to drink to get that way.

So if I eat 2 gallon of ice cream, I can sue the producer? Because they did not warn for overdose? IMO, that is insane. You can't legislate against stupidity.

I think 95% of lawsuits are frivolous. The judges should tell the complaintent that they are stupid and throw the case out. I have learned that people in general are stupid and you can't cure stupid.

Yes, and eugenics is a bit controversial too. And the rewards for displayed stupidity are so excessive that producers have to warn for all kinds of ridiculous courses of action. It even makes a smart person feel uberstupid, having to spend time reading all these disclaimers.
