Yes, but as the school's position was not clear (was it blaming the girl, or saying "no biggie to the guy"?), both forms of protest actually should have been used.

The report is not clear. As a religious school it is safe to assume that they do not endorse out of wedlock pregnancy. For them- it is probably along the same lines as drugs, violence, etc... that most schools consider common place.


There are other students at this school to consider. What message are they being sent?


I don't know how else to say- I think the boy should have been sent out as well (provided they could prove he was in fact the father- that may also play a role here)

I think they were well within their rights to say that she was no longer an acceptable student for their CATHOLIC school.


For every action there is a reaction. The reaction here had to be known ahead of time. Could she have REALLY thought her Catholic school would say GO AHEAD SWEETIE- parade your out of wedlock pregnancy and head off to college with a degree from our facility? We don't see a problem with that at all!

It's not as though the Catholic religion is known for being promoters of teen parenting.

Somewhat of a Contradiction: Their Failure to support the use of Contraception.


Of course, as we no, ....um.....nothing's a "Perfect" Contraceptive except abstainance......and even then, a Virgin Birth is not unheard of in the church.
