Direct Revenue employees and owners should be tortured in some fashion. They actually had a group of programmers called the Dark Arts group because they were able to create spyware that actually sought out competing spyware on your computer and removed it. You have to read this article. Amazing.

Spyware rakes in an estimated $2 billion a year in revenue, or about 11% of all Internet ad business, says the research firm IT-Harvest. Direct Revenue's direct customers have included such giants as Delta Air Lines (DALRQ ) and Cingular Wireless. It has sold millions of dollars of advertising passed along by Yahoo. And Direct Revenue has received venture capital from the likes of Insight Venture Partners, a respected New York investment firm.

I use Spyware Blaster that I've been more than happy with for the past few years. I guess either some people don't or maybe not all spyware is stopped. Due to the kind of sites I surf around on I realize spyware can come with the territory but spam annoys me more than spyware.

I use ad-aware and spybot along with the avg anti-virus. i just recently had no choice but to reformat my computer because of spyware that i couldn't get rid of that kept leaving trojan horse viruses in my computer that i couldn't get rid of permanently either. all because i went to this one website to look for a serial number for a game i had just downloaded. i'll never go there again!! I spend 4 days trying to get rid of this garbage until i finally gave up and decided to totally clean up my hard drive with reformatting. it was my only option.

I hate spyware. :x
