No. 1 on FHM's 'Sexiest Women' Poll
http://abcnews.go.com/Entertainment/...rtainment=true
NEW YORK Mar 27, 2006 (AP)ââ¬â Scarlett Johansson tops a lovely list of the "100 Sexiest Women in the World," in a poll of readers by FHM magazine.
"One of the best things for a woman to hear is that she is sexy," the 21-year-old actress, star of "Match Point" and "Lost in Translation," said in a statement. "I'd like to thank FHM's readers for the huge compliment."
Angelina Jolie is No. 2 on the list, followed by Jessica Alba, Jessica Simpson, Keira Knightley, Halle Berry, Jenny McCarthy, Maria Sharapova, Carmen Electra and Teri Hatcher.

Scarlett is very pretty and has a good body. I guess I don't pay enough attention to the actresses to know if she should be number one but she has my vote for now.

Scarlett has the advantage that unlike so many celebrities of whom their existence I was forcefully made aware by the darn media such as TV, newspapers, and even worse gossip magazines ( ), she has not proven herself (yet?) to be the intellectual equal of swiss cheese.
If thinking of the geniuses of the Life of the Ultimate Simpleton (The Simple Life), and other similar shows, is not punishment enough - the mere thought of having to be in the presence of these creatures fills me with despair.
However as I have no idea on her views (and I have seen just one movie with her) I cannot attribute intelligence to her either - and the acceptance of the award with these words does not give me a lot of hope that it might truly be otherwise. And without intelligence, it is impossible to be sexy IMO.
So no, she would not have my vote.

I think she is VERY attractive....but certainly not the sexiest woman in the world. Actually, her face is a little too round and not well defined. Comparing her to the previous beauty of stars like Vivian Leigh and Audry Hepburn would be a joke.

Lost in Translation was awesome, it ended EXACTLY how I would have done it.
Scarlett's great, she's not to over the top and yet still sexy. Angelina Jolie, Jessica Alba, Jessica Simpson and Keira Knightley are all my next top favs anyway, so a great list IMO. I like Natalie Portman too, I know she wouldn't make top of the list but she's great and deserves a mention.
Halle Berry, Jenny McCarthy, Maria Sharapova, Carmen Electra and Teri Hatcher? Meh. None of them do anything for me, second rate actresses and pr0n stars.

I don't think the choice was based on someone being an actress. They just had to be famous.
I think a whole lot of them are nothing but soft p0rn queens. Other than their body, which was enhanced by a doctor, some out there really have a minimum of talent.

Natalie Portman really is one beautiful woman.
I think Scarlet does look like a hottie, so she sure did earn the first place, Lol.

Any girl who can have her boobs groped at an awards show in front of millions of people and not bat an eye, deserves the award.

Please, can someone explain to me why Ms. Nipplegate of the Super Bowl a couple of years ago did not receive the award for her lifetime achievement?
Double standards, blah!

Freud was mistaken all along about the penis envy. He must have attributed that to women, instead of attributing breast envy to men.
But consider: this award exists in the US. The same country that censors display of all genitalia (with the horrible unrecognizable blobs), because they might be offensive. Even worse, it is assumed that this offense is worse than the offense to reality loving/accepting Americans. Or do they not exist?
And no, there is no real reason to censor: after all we hear time and again, that if you don't like it, don't watch it.
Why maintain a double standard, in the country that supposedly is all about freedom?

It's not a double standard. The Super Bowl is considered 'family viewing'. They have a large religious, fmily, and people of all age group following. The Oscars are NOT in that category since they show clips from R rated films. It is not confusing. Everyone here knows the difference.
