Tennessee Teacher Accused of Sleeping With 13-Year-Old Student

McMINNVILLE, Tenn. - A Warren County elementary teacher has been charged with having a sexual relationship with one of her students, a 13-year-old boy.

Pamela Rogers Turner, 27, was charged Monday with 15 counts of sexual battery by an authority figure and 13 counts of statutory rape. All the charges involved the same boy.

I can't understand why a grown woman would be the LEAST bit interested in a 13 year old boy. She is a good looking woman. WHY?????
Does it sound like a more acceptable scenario than it would if it were the other way around involving a male teacher and a 13 year old girl?

there was a teacher that did this with her 12 year old student before. i remember reading about it not too long ago. i think her name was pamela too. she ended up having this kid's children (2 of them).

I don't understand what a grown woman or a grown man would see in a young child sexually. they're still babies for god sakes! I'm glad she's charged with all these charges. she should be! She molested this boy and took his innocence away. People like this really make my blood boil. :x

Makes me wonder a couple of things:
1. What is the difference between "sexual battery" and statutory rape?
2. What happened on the 15th occasion that made this 13 year old boy decide that, enough is enough by golly, and report the incident?

IMHO, there is no difference between an adult man and adult woman having sex with a minor. Now we may argue about the definition of a "minor," but our law defines it rather clearly, and if we wanted to define it differently then we must change the law. Until then we must obey it or suffer the consequences.

Conceptually, age isn't necessarily the best measure of moral maturity. There are "adults" acting like 13 year olds.

When I'm around 13 year old boys....they get on my nerves. I can't imagine wanting to 'date' one of them or spend any more time with them than I have to.

When I was a senior in high school I dated a middle school coach from another school for quite awhile. I can't say I was any the better or worse for it. Then again....I wasn't 13.

The problem is that the adult is already a freak and is ruining an innocent childs future and mental health as well. People that abuse children should be shot.
