A little about yourself
Since this is a family community, it wouldn't hurt if we got to know a little about our members and what's important in their lives. I encourage all of you to post in here but understand if your not comfortable doing so. You are also welcome to start a new topic to tell us about yourself.
Please note that not posting here does not make you any less of a member of this site, you are all welcome here and I will do my best to cater this site to all your needs :!:

I'll start
Much of what I'm about was already on the front page of the site so there shouldn't be too many suprises :?
Hi, my name is Ken. I am a 36 year old male who is a weekend father to the best 9 year old girl in the world. Like many of us, my past is a little troubled. I grew up in an alcoholic environment and struggled with the drug myself in my mid 20's. I'm not particularly close to my father as a result and do my best to be a good father to my child. I care deeply for a gal who lives thousands of miles away but that will hopefully be coming to an end later in the year.
I've recently discovered that I really enjoy building websites, as you may have noticed. I'll be adding content to KidZone in the next few weeks and hope to have it up and running in the next month or so. I also run another site for gamers called ServerIndex.com but have let it stagnate a little due to the build up of this site.
I am an avid gamer, Doom 3 being my most recent addiction. I also enjoy spending time with my truly fantastic daughter and treasure every moment I have with her. My other interests include mountain biking, tennis, squash, art, golf and goofing around with my buds.

Hi, I'm Cindy and I'm a....never mind...bad joke. Actually, I'm a wife, mother and dog lover. I've been married (2nd marriage) for 15 years. I have a 23-year-old son (Jason) who has recently joined the Navy and will be leaving sometime before May. He had a girlfriend of five years, but they just recently broke up.
I have a 24-year-old stepson (John) who is a Marine in Iraq. He married just before he left, so we have a daughter-in-law, Jamie.
I have four little doggies that I adore. I babysit for two toddlers full-time, so that keeps me very busy during the week.
I'm so glad Duke invited me to this forum. I think it will be a perfect place for me.

You're very welcome Cindy and I'm glad to see you took me up on the invitation. I would also have invited others from that now defunct forum but I don't keep in touch with any of them. If you still do your welcome to pass on the address to this site as they are all welcome here.
It's too bad about your son and his girlfriend, 5 years is a long time to lose someone close to your heart. I hope everything is well with him and the rest of your family. Hopefully they return home soon.

My name is Jonathan but pretty much everyone calls me Jon, Jonny or the occasional "gimpy". I live with my mom and my sister who's 20 and just started going to college. I just turned sixteen on the twelth of september and I am hoping to get my drivers license this upcoming month.
I'm also working towards getting my private pilot's license when I turn 17, joining the U.S. Air Force Academy for college and after that getting a job in aviation.
In 2001 I lost my dad to suicide and for about two years after that I really struggled with feeling guilty of it being my fault and also was very deppressed with pretty much the only thing keeping me going was playing games online and my friends from doing so.
My family is religion oriented and I've grown up with the Bible and religion but I didn't give much thought to it until this past winter (winter '03-'04) when I got saved and received Christ. Me and my mom then joined a church and I got baptized in june.
I'm very much into extreme sports but mainly just snowboarding and skateboarding now, I also like biking and recently went paintballing and fell in love with it.
Since I live in wisconsin we don't have very big places to board here so for the past two winters we've gone out to colorado for a week to board and this year, since I'm going to get my license, I'm looking forward to driving out myself or with a friend.
That's bout all I can think about for now and I got schoolwork(I homeschool) to do so if anyone wants to know more bout me just ask
-Jon

Random, I really have no intelligent response to your post. I thank you for posting that about yourself and have gained a much deeper respect for you than I previously had (if that's possible). I've known you now for a while and apologize if I've ever come across as an ignorant tard like I prolly often do.
I can say that I'm tremendously glad you joined up and even more happy you felt the comfort level to post intimate details as above.
I will say one thing though Random. Whenever your name was the topic, I've always expressed my liking for you. I think I got to know you the best when you, me and Grease were a three man killing team in EOD. We were unstoppable and they are among my fondest of BF 1942 memories. I always thought you were a great guy, it's just now I have a bit more of a reason to feel so.

Hello everyone!
A little bit about me:
I just turned 40 this year (YIKES!) and am the mother of 2 beautiful girls, 16 (Krystal) and almost 13 (Kassandra) and the wife to a wonderful man. We've been together for 15 years, married 9 yrs. We also have a little 1/2 chihuahua, 1/2 yorky doggy named Micky (he's my youngest daughter's dog).
I love to go camping with my family, fishing, canoeing, sewing and doing crafts.

Hi my name is Chris. I'm currently serving year 15 of a life sentence (in marriage). I have 3 girls ages 12, 10, and 8. All three are very intelligent and sensitive and for the most part VERY good. I've just recently (within the last 3 months) moved to Las Vegas from a little town in Pennsylvania outside of Pittsburgh. The move has been hard for all of us but I think I'm the one taking it the hardest. I wanted to move and supported my wife when she asked about taking the job. THing is I have a very good friend (known him for 30 some years) he's the only person I still talk to that I graduated with. Leaving was one of the hardest things I had to do. I entered depression and stopped playing pc games, would get mad at my wife for no good reason. Just generally became a jerk. My 10 year old became quite close to me and wouldn't leave my side - I credit her with getting me through the roughest patch. Now I'm focusing on finding a J-O-B. This is tough too, I want a 9-5 gig so I can spend time with the fam instead of seeing them a few hours out of the week like my last one. Enough for now.
