Currently, I'm offering to run affiliate or partner website banners with re-direct html code in each banner provided the site I'm linking to runs our banner with similar html code.

If you have a site or know of someone who does, contact me either by Private Message or e-mail at sirapnek@shaw.ca and I'll be happy to add your site to our partners list.

To see the parners block, click Home and scroll to the bottom of the page.

If you take the time to scroll down on the front page, you will notice a Partners block. I'm not sure if this is the final resting place for this block but the sites advertised there will likely remain.

Please take the time to visit these sites. They offer a variety of services from online gaming communities, to game server monitoring, to directory services for all types of websites to crafts and hobbies.

has been added to the block on the front page. All links is a comprehensive directory listing that links you to quality websites. You can find sites at All Links that offer a great diversity of products, services and infomation.

I can also say from personal experience that dealing with their webmaster when listing this site has been extremely helpful. I'd recommend All Links to anyone looking to have their website listed in a directory service or simply trying to find a good website. Check them out.

I've put a lot of time and research into finding sites that offer reciprocal linking programs and free directory services. You'll notice their banners at the bottom of the main page. I will be adding many more "Partners" in the weeks to come and will list their products and services here when complete.

If you have a site in mind that would fit our theme, please post their link here and I'll be sure to look it over and get back to you.

Thanks erin :-)

I'll exchange links with you. For now, you may have noticed my affiliate and directory links at the bottom of the main page. I will add your banner with a re-direct to your site in the next day or so.

I'll also likely add a member website category to the Web Links as well.

I'm not sure what will happen to the front page links as they really enlarge the main page and I'm not too happy about it. I may move the links or add a horizontal of vertical scrolling banner block similar to the ones on your site.

BTW, I visited your site shortly after you registered. Have you recently changed the template to Deep Blue?

I'll only be linking with member sites that actually participate within the forums. I don't want to start a link farm for irrelovant links that have nothing to do with this site whatsoever. Member sites will be added so long as the member participates within our forums.

I hope this doesn't come across the wrong way. The decision was made because I've been approached by sites that offer services such as tobacco and adult oriented material. Not exactly family website friendly content.

Also, even if you are a member and your site links to porn, tobacco, alcohol, etc., then I cannot add your site either. I apologize but I want all my links to be to content rich sites that are safe for the whole family or of use to the family.

Sincerely,

ken

Great point Duke! Should be obvious to anyone who comes here what the point is, but to those who don't get it, pr0n and tobacco ads aren't what we're aiming for here.

I feel bad about the member link rule though. I just don't want a memberlist full of people who have less than 10 posts if possible. I'd hate to see this place turn into a link farm just because people think they'll benefit from PR from here while adding nothing to the site whatsoever.

It was a tough decision to make but I feel it's a good decision.

I've applied to Parenthood.com in hopes of being added to their links page.

The following is my long winded letter:

Dear sir or madam,

I run a small family website called Lifesupporters.com. It's a website where I post family oriented news topics on the main page and also offer a web forum for members and guests to communicate. I had a bit of a rotten childhood due to a substance abusing father and a timid mother. My memories are of stocking the fridge with beer, opening beer, taking away the empties, and stacking cases upon cases in the shed. I felt that there may be others who have had similar experiences or are currently living in an unhealthy environment and need to reach out to others. The forum is also a place meant to bring all family members closer together through better understanding of each other. No where on the web (that I've seen) is there a site where child and teen can read what mom and dad have to say, and vice versa.

The site is new but it has a great purpose and aim in my opinion. I was recently recognized as a Family Friendly Site http://www.familyfriendlysites.com/F...ly/default.asp and have been recognized and listed in several directories such as WoW, AbiLogic, All the Biz and Gimpsy. I was actually approached by AbiLogic, WoW and All the Biz to list and even had my own category created to fit my sites content. I can provide links if requested.

Lifesupporters.com caters to all of us and gives us an open forum to discuss what has and is happening in our lives, good or bad. Nobody at Lifesupporters.com is an expert, just a sympathetic ear that can offer consolation and maybe some loose advice to help the troubled mind.

The site is new but has received increased traffic over the 3 months it's been online. I invite you to browse the site and give me your comments (positive or negative).

I'm interested in being listed in your links page here: http://parenthood.com/links_display.html?cat=2. In exchange, I'll put a small banner of your site with a target=_blank link to yoursite on my main page: http://www.lifesupporters.com/. Upon acceptance into your link page I'll also add the same banner with your sites description in my new "Web Links Page" here: http://www.lifesupporters.com/module...viewlink&cid=3

I sincerely apologize for the long winded message.

Thank you for taking the time to read.

Respectfully,

Ken Lindberg (aka Duke)
Lifesupporters.com founder: http://www.lifesupporters.com/

I like the letter. I think it is very good and give an insight as to what the forum here is all about.

Good links are important. Bad links are a hinderance.

I liked the short newsletter idea because those of us who are members can forward it to people in our email....as well as you sending to the people who originally joined and may have lost the link by now. (I've lost links to forums. I know it happens.)

It gives us an alternate way to expand. We could even print them out individually which is another way to share with family and friends.

We are getting good traffic. We just need to explore ways to harness it.

I've started working on the newsletter actually. I'm just putting together "user friendly" content then I'll be adding images. People identify quicker with images than text, if they like the visuals, they'll likely read on.

I'm hoping to have something together later in the week.
