Default forums link problem?

The highlighted link takes me back to the main forum page, instead of bck to that sub section of the forum is it suppose to do that?

the second linkback to "lighter side/off topc" takes me back to that forum

but instead of the highlighted link taking me back to what would be the top section of the forum only it takes me back to the main forums page.

if what ive sid doesnt make sense i can show you with the Hwg forums coz i dont quite know how else to explain.

I'm not really sure if I understand your question so I'll just answer the way I believe it should work.

Link 1: Lifesupporters.com Forums > Clicking this link should take you back to the forum index TOP so you see the forum in it's entirety.

Link 2: Lifesupporters.com: Your Online Family Friendly and Personal Support Forum. > Clicking this link should take you to the top of this forum only (collapsing all other forum categories), not necessarily to the top of the forum index. If I understand your question correctly, you may be wondering why all other forums are still visible as many forums are configured where clicking on a forum main category makes that forum only viewable. I can look into this because it may just be a simple config. change.

Link 3: Lighter Side/Off Topic > Should take you to that forum with no other forums visible.

Is this what you meant? If so, I can look into Link 2 and see if there's a change to be made but I do believe Link 1 and Link 3 are working fine, it's just Link 2 that's a bit off.

Alright, I think this is what you were looking for, correct me if I'm wrong.

Now clicking on the Main Forum opens up only that forum and sub-Forums (level 1 and level 2) on the page only.

This was a setting in VBSEO that called for Direct Category Links:

Direct Category Links? NEW!
Set this option to "Yes" to enable anchor type links for forum categories.

NOTE: Link to categories will look like "http://yourforumsroot/#category_title"

If you prefer it this way then I'll leave it as is, just let me know.

ok now im confused lol

what i ment was this;

Quote:
Link 2: Lifesupporters.com: Your Online Family Friendly and Personal Support Forum. > Clicking this link should take you to the top of this forum only (collapsing all other forum categories), not necessarily to the top of the forum index. If I understand your question correctly, you may be wondering why all other forums are still visible as many forums are configured where clicking on a forum main category makes that forum only viewable. I can look into this because it may just be a simple config. change.
was doing the same as this;

Quote:
Link 1: Lifesupporters.com Forums > Clicking this link should take you back to the forum index TOP so you see the forum in it's entirety.

I actually understood what you meant after a few mouse clix. I rarely if ever, browse in a single forum which is why I never realized it was working in this manner.

Anyway, if you prefer it then we can leave it this way.
