What about a money forum?
Like for debt for example?
That's a huge issue in this day and age and I'm starting to feel the crunch and I don't like it one bit.

Re: What about a money forum?
You don't have to tell me about feeling the bite, I drive a V8.
I'm perfectly willing to add a forum such as this but I'd like to flush out the idea some more and see what kind of feedback we get.
At first it would have to start off as a subforum so do you envision it as a subforum of a subforum such as The Class Room or perhaps a subforum of The World Around Us?

Re: What about a money forum?
I was thinking about having it divided into different sub forums, for like say saving for retirement / investing / debt management, but those can all basically be tossed into one forum.
Looking around at what all we have right now it's tough to decide where it should fit in though. I was thinking about where the jobs/careers forum is, but that's the lighter side / off topic and I don't think that really applies.
Perhaps it would be best in The World Around Us.

Re: What about a money forum?
Well I can try creating a separate forum/subforums for now and if it doesn't work out we can always combine them later I guess.
Is this a forum that you all think you would use?

I am Dutch. We are supposed to be extremely private about money affairs. Or about affections. Or about anything that resembles sanity according to the people on the other side of the pond.

I'm a firm believer in living within one's means and ONLY using a Credit Card for an Emergency. Plus I'm a cheapskate....and quite happy to admit it!

Re: What about a money forum?
And you did not mention wodka. If Luba was a regular Dutch name, I would be 100% certain that you are not Russian, but Dutch.
Many people consider "going Dutch" as doing the cheapskate thing.

Actually, we use that phrase here, too! Anytime I go out with friends and the waiter/waitress asks "Is that on one bill or separate?" I'm Always the first to pipe up, "Separate, please!"....hmmm, maybe that's why I haven't been asked to go out much lately....
Oh, yes, Vautrin, I DID have two drinks with Wodka in them yesterday afternoon...I posted that somewhere...

Re: What about a money forum?
The expression does not exist as such in Dutch.
But back on topic, a money subforum seems like a good idea.

Re: What about a money forum?
I would personally like to learn how to buy and trade stocks and how to read that section of the paper to know what is doing what. I have no clue.
