How would you all feel if we had an area for members to discuss content that derives from their websites/blogs, etc., in a forum on lifesupporters.com?

Ya, maybe I didn't explain myself that well.

As we grow, the likelihood of our members having their own sites grows as well. Many people these days have their own personal sites, blogs, homepages, etc., so I think it's only fair that Lifesupporters.com not only acknowledges the fact but also promotes member discussion on member sites.

Essentially, you GG have your own site as does Star, tkdlady, jb, Dwoing and likely a few others. I propose a forum to allow anyone who is a participating member at Lifesupporters.com, have a publicly accessible area where they can discuss things from their own websites.

Of course there will be some ground rules as we are a rated "Family Friendly" and "Web Everyone" website but if these common sense rules are adhered to, there is no reason you shouldn't be allowed to discuss your own sites and sites content in a designated forum here.

Does this remove some of the haze?

I think it would be beneficial. Gives a better understanding what drives members (blogs). Websites is of course content dependent as well. But given the rules such discussion needs to adhere to, I don't see much issues.

I'd prolly start with a general member website sub-forum within the Network Discussion area (where I'm still unsure) and leave it that way until such time as one theme or topic becomes popular. Should this happen, the sub-forums may fragment farther to get a bit more focused in nature. The idea is still pretty vague but pretty much everything around here starts with a general idea and builds itself as time progresses.

In return, I may ask that each participating member site place either a small banner on the main page of their blog/site/homepage, etc., that links directly to lifesupporters.com (opening in a new window). Either a small banner around 88px x 31px or perhaps a text link as both are easy to implement and neither are intrusive to the site displaying them.

I do believe its a fair trade to anyone interested as Lifesupporters.com has a strong PR5 Page Rank with google and traffic stats that continue to grow monthly. I may even throw in a reciprocal link to your site with description so anyone browsing our Weblink Directory (Coming Soon) will have another means of finding your site.

Again, this is all blue-skying at this point but I think it would make for a great bonus to active members of Lifesupporters.com.
