So....Have You Ever Been Dumped...

by a husband, wife, lover, friend?
(1) did it devastate you or did it blindside you?
(2) did it take a long time to get over?
(3) how did you handle it...with anger reiterated?
(4) did you fall into a depression or....
(5) did you realize it was the best thing that could have happened?
(6) did you have help (as a friend, family, or therapist?)
(7) if you realized it was the best thing happening, did you celebrate?

(1) I was dumped by a 'friend' and it blindsided me.
(2) About a month trying to figure out why it happened.
(3) I didn't reiterate with anger towards her because I didn't want to stoop to the cruel words she used.
(4) I didn't fall into depression, I had some liquor instead.

(5) I do realize it was the best thing that could have happened because I don't have to listen to her 'poor me' wallowing anymore.
(6) I did have a wonderful friend who gave me SO much wisdom to handle this. Bottom line: She lost a friend who truly loved her and was there for her through all her troubles and would have stayed a friend forever if this hadn't happened.
(7) I'm celebrating right now with a glass of Carolans and deep gratitude!

(1) Dumped by friends and girlfriend, all at once. It blindsighted me.
(2) Well, seeing as my life fell apart and all my friends left too, sorta took a while to get back onto good ground.
(3) Sex.
(4) No, got away from drugs and that whole lifestyle, I miss playing guitar but other than that.... I'm good.
(5) Well, without it I wouldn't be where I am, and obviously none of my friends or girlfriend were 'real', so um... yeah it was for the best. I'm happy now!
(6) Sex, and old friends I'd neglected...
(7) Nope, no celebration, my partying hard days were done. I'm happily engaged to the most amazing girl in the world now.

Not dumped in so many words but in a manner of speaking. It devastated me and hurt like hell. Still does on occasion. Don't think the pain will ever totally go away. I didn't show anger to this person but was very angry. I have a very good friend who helped me through it all. I have found another friend who has made the pain much less noticeable and is helping me get past it all in other ways.

dumped numerous times by ex boyfriend

(1) yes it did devastate me everytime he did it
(2) i always waited around for him to get back with me again time after time, but when it was over for good i think i moved on quite quickly
(3) i handled it with a lot of self hatred, blamed myself for letting it go on, and for letting it go.
(4) depression - something i suffered from in the past, and it just kind of crept up on me again at the time. i also went into rebound with a guy who was over the top emotional.
(5) a lot of people pointed out that my ex was an a$$hole and an evil guy. and althought i knew they were right was hard accepting it. but it was the best thing for me.
(6) i dont involve my family in my personal life, but my friends where the hugest biggest shoulder to lean on. im thankful for them all
(7) I dont really celebrate that it was the best thing, but i do celebrate everyday of the relationship i have with Fb.

Been dumped by all, except for wife.

How did I handle it? Not well. I've actually just stopped trying to figure out relationships at all. They change on a daily basis and I'm tired of blaming myself for what other people do.

Luba, you don't have too much luck with UPS, Fed Ex, DHL, or any other shipping agency. I think you should just go ahead and use the Psychic SuperGlue now and be done with it!!!

yeah getting dumped sucks. I just last night did the dumping of my ex/friend. i told her i just couldnt do it anymore and i needed out, i dont think she believes me either

well the whole thing is really difficult, and im not sure if im strong enough to not apologize and let her back in. im already tempted to just go to her place tomorrow night and wait for her to get home, as she is out till 9:45pm and i can get there from work by 9:30pm. Its just hard to hate somebody.

You don't have to hate her. If you are unhappy in the relationship then getting out is best. That doesn't equate hate.
