Defining LOSER
Speaking of the LOSERS being discussed in the other thread....
What characteristics does a person have before you consider them a big loser?

I think the heart of the matter is in the first post on the other thread. Sometimes relationships are just bad for you. When you're in them you focus on how that manifests itself in the failings of the other person but with distance I prefer to think of the relationship/circumstance/life etc as being to blame. That way you can retain a sense of balance and memories of the good times stay with you to counteract the bad. Otherwise, all you're left with is bitterness.

Loser = guy without job, guy who doesn't bathe, guy with teeth blackened from years of chewing tobacco, guy who mooches money off of chick, guy who physically, emotionally, or and verbally abuses chick, guy who does same to chick's children, and/or guy with severe substance abuse problems.
That about sums it up for one or more of the six I married.

I wouldn't even DATE a guy with any of those problems! They couldn't afford my beer habit!
Now, the kid's dad turned out like that later....but he wasn't like that when I married him or during their baby/toddler years. Beyong his personal problems, I think it's the pot/drugs that he got into that totally messed him up and turned him into someone none of us recognized.

Can never hear/read that without an instant mental replay of the theme tune. You know the one?

I think a loser is someone who only thinks of his/her needs with no respect for anyone else! Someone who thinks the world owes him/her a living! Someone who whines and complains about their lot in life doing nothing to change it!

Yeah, you are SO right! Most of them are narcissists and that is why.

I think part of the problem is that people like that never see it in themselves. They think they are the victim in every situation. If you stay around them long enough....they'll drive you batty.

I agree Merika. Loser can be extremely succesful. Think of narcissists. And of course portraying yourself as a victim has the added bonus for a lot of people that their actions are allowed by them to be idiotic.

I think it would be a blessing to go through life always thinking your scew ups are everyone else's fault. You could sleep peacefully, look yourself in the mirror with a smile and just whistle your way right through life taking no responsibility for anything.
I, on the other hand, have to drink. LMAO!
