not sappy ones! LOL! I would spend a couple days in bed crying my eyes out then get back out there having fun. When I'm really sad like that, I have to be around people. It helps to take your mind off of your pain.

I don't think they helped in any way...but I have a whole list. I don't generally listen to country music.....but "Please Remember Me' from Tim McGraw has got to be one of the saddest love songs I've ever heard. If I listen to it after 3 beers.....it STILL makes me go into a big boo-hoo party!

I also like Whitney Houston's....I Wanna Run To You.
The McGraw one is my all time favorite though.

Merika! how can you not know the song "I will survive"??? That's a classic! I don't know who sings that one either but I know the song.
It's a great pick me up song.

I remember a song which had those particular words from Gloria Gaynor (sp?) years ago....but I considered it more of a disco song.

Well...I don't consider any particular disco song as being a 'tear jerker'.....LMAO! Man, if I pick out a sad song.....it's SAD...it doesn't make me want to get up and dance with John Travolta.

LMAO merika!
one really sad song is "seasons in the sun". I forget who sings it but I cry everytime i hear it. it isn't a break up song. it's a dying song and he's saying goodbye to everyone he loves. That has got to be the sadest songs i ever heard in my life.

You're not the only one, Merika. that song is so over the top it's been lampooned loads of times. I can't remember by whom but some of them were very funny.
I try and avoid sad songs if I'm sad, they just make me worse. Sometimes I can't help myself if I'm absolutely in the depths and can't resist a good wallow The happier stuff is better, particularly if I can dance to it.

Actually movies have a way of making me feel sadder about situations than any song ever can.
