If you don't go to Church we won't have a Christmans!
These used to be the rules of my house no church no Christmans and the same as EAster, my parents stopped going to church when we we're teens but as an adult I go and I think it's important for my son and my spouce to go...
My Parents are trying to talk us out of going to church tonight and go to a parade instead.... humm they instilled these rules in my head that I want to pass to my son now they are trying to break them Go Fuigure.

It personally doesn't matter to me if you go to church or not, there's no reason doing either means you can't enjoy the holiday. I'm flexible and will go either way to please those close to me.

My mother is extremely religious. She used to make us go to church every sunday and easter & christmas. We all hated it and it turned us off religion. We don't go to church. The only time I sit at a church is when one of the kids have to go for something for school. My mother still goes to midnight mass. She's at church everyday of the week.

I'm sure there's many who think it's important and an equal number who don't. I'm one of the dont's but that wouldn't stop me from going if my SO wanted to go.

As a pagan, going to church is really only an excersise in entertainment. Happily the Catholic church has designed, with excellent success, its ritualistic mass around the needs of the pagan in hopes of conversion to christianity. I appreciate the burning of insense, the flicking of water upon me, the cadance of the priest's voice as he speaks to his god, the robes, the oils, the fountain containing the holy waters designed to "wash away the original sins" from the occasional squirming infant, symbols......all quite impressive................
HOWEVER:
Nothing really replaces nude dancing to the solid beat of a bass drum around a roaring bonfire on a beach under a full moon followed by an org...........well, better stop before any 8 year olds get the "wrong idea!"

Here's a pretty broad link that touches on everything pretty well:
http://www.bloomington.in.us/~pen/mpagan.html
But, like most things the best thing to do is have a personal trainer.
Now, what beach is closest to you.........that allows bonfires........... and is relatively private????

celebrate natural transitions such as lunar phases or the first snowfall of the year
I can personally say....this would not work for me. I might as well celebrate a HollyWierdWood Premier and call it Holy.
