A haunting in Alabama
did anyone catch that on the discovery channel last night? (I was over at mom's and watched it...VERY interesting)
I think that there are ghosts...I have never seen any (well, one time but I was so scared I'm not sure what it was I saw) but I've heard lots of stuff.
My mom's house is pretty freaky: at night you can hear things crawling through the walls. You can hear footsteps on the stairs (they sound like they follow you down) things being dragged, banging on the walls, the garage door sounds like it's opening, but no one will be there...etc.
One time, I fell asleep and had one of those dreams where you wake up and your surroundings are exactly how they are when you fall asleep- (example, I fell asleep in my room, and had a dream that I woke up in my room, and every thing was the same in the dream as it is in real life) and this disembodied voice came from my door and kept repeating, "You are the conduit, you are the conduit, you are the conduit," over and over again until I woke up sweating.
I've had other really strange things happen, but these are some of the more believable.
I've always said that I'd love to be an ignorant "non believer." How I'd love to never have experienced the paranormal, 'cause it's terrifying at first, and everyone thinks your nuts!

They had something similar on TLC....about some house which was haunted in Georgia.
I'm sure there's validity in all that stuff somewhere....but if some ghost tries to contact me....I would advise them that I'm NOT playing. I would be pissed off.

I watched that last night about the little girl and the haunted house. It was actually a bit unnerving watching this little girl who was constantly being visited by ghosts/spirits, the latter ones actually making her feel threatened.

You know Duke.....I have a hard time believing those kinds of stories. Just like that one family with Amityville Horror...some years ago....had this big creepy story. HOWEVER, no family who ever lived in that house prior to or thereafter.....had any of those things happen to them.
I have a mouse in my house which makes tremendous noise at night, I live on soft soil and sometimes the house shift and causes odd noises, sometimes the wind blows through a crack and whistles faintly....I could easily mistaken those things for a ghost if I were so inclined.
I believe there is a supernatural world....but I'm not sure that I believe it's a creepy thing.

i moved last august.... my house i belive is definetly "occupied" at first my kids and i heard things that go bump in the night and i brushed it off.... until **** started turning on on its own.... and yes i had the logical side to everything "timers, static electricity, imagination etc..." things started moving on there own for example 1 cat was outside, the other 2 were upstairs with me at the top of the stairs in plain view... i was on the phone with the girl i carpooled with and was all ready to go to school.... i could hear the sound of something being hit across the floor, my floor downsatairs in cement and it sounded clearly like a piece of cardboard or something to that consistency... i noticed the cats right away and decided to check it out and sure as heck if there wasnt a small cardboard box that my son stores his ps2 cord in laying in the middle of the floor..... another thing was id tell some of the wierd things that have happened to my school mates and this one day girl lent her digital camera and said just take some pictures and see what happens.... so i did .... random pictures of different rooms over the weekend.... i went to school on monday and didnt realize i could zoom in on the camera and valene zoomed in on a few of the pictures and i kid you not bubbles or orbs appeared and a small bolt of "lightening" was sticking out of my ceiling.... if i can get a hold of valene ill ask her to email me the pictures.... it was weird.... my kids and i arent scared so much anymore but used to the noises and happenings.... i just dont like staying home alone tho when the kids are gone to thier dads.... but i do LOL

I'm not saying the stories we hear are true or untrue. I guess I'm just open-minded to the possibility of strange phenomena and other worldly things such as ghost, UFO's, parallel dimensions, etc. I have a hard time believing that we're all who we are based off of chemicals and genetics just doesn't make total sense to me. If there is something (more magical) involved then whatâââ‰â¢s to say that it can't spill beyond its boundaries from time to time?

I wonder if that's the only time we see ghosts is when their bored. I wonder what they do with the rest of their time?

Oh I so belive in ghosts. If my best friend had not been with me at the time I would have sworn I was insane. I'm glad he saw it too.
Coming home from a g/fs camp late at night we came around a 90 degree bend, right after we finished turning there was this misty thing in the middle of the road. Looked like a body with 2 arms, 2 legs, fuzzy misty head. Torso was a brownish color and the legs were sorta dark green. We were like what the hell is that and then I drove through it. One weird thing though...IT WENT THROUGH THE DAMNED CAR. No alcohol/drugs/lack of sleep was involved. We both saw it with our own eyes and we both did not sleep that night.
Oh yeah, there was no fog or anything else that night.
And it turns out - yeah you guessed it - some dude got creamed in that spot years ago.
I never went out there again.
