Default Do you believe in hell?

I'm not sure that this is a good topic but I'm really just curious.

If you do believe in it, what is your idea of hell?

Sartre said: Hell is other people.

I say: Hell is the place where you are not allowed to speak in first person about yourself.

I believe there's a heaven so I do believe there's a hell too.

I'm not sure if I believe that the world we live in now is hell or if the soul goes to hell like it does heaven. I'm not sure I really want to find the answer to that question out actually. I think I like the thought of going to heaven better then to hell.

"Good" in the sence that it isn't heavenly?

Hell, I think is a useful tool that western religions use to extort money from the gullible and certainly more effective than involking the "Boogie Man" in order to persuade children to return home after dark.

I think I understand her. Heather must be visiting some dark places right now. I am also, but certainly not the same way she does...

If we're dead, where does that leave the conscience of our own body and of our own life? I think that's the question. If when you die it's the same as when you are given birth, you forget everything ... I don't know.

As much as I take my thrength out of God and religion, I am convinced there's nothing after death. Hell, heaven are abstract things, yet wrapped in notions that us, as humans, can understand. These are tools that help us have a term of comparison. What's right and what's wrong. I believe that the notions of right and wrong are a bit overrated, once you go to space, let's say .And what we did is only change the place. What if you change the dimension?

Hell is on Earth and on Earth exclusively.

I believe whatever God says in the Bible. He says we will live forever bcause we have an eternal soul. We will either live it IN His presence or OUT of his presence. For now....He says the sun will shine and the rain will fall on good and evil alike. One day though....that won't be the case. Hell is merely being separated from the presence of God.

Well...it certainly has taught me that you that you can't live it happy without God in it...and that when you goof with His guidelines...it always comes back to bite you in the butt. LOL!

I'm pretty happy and I'm not aware if God is or isn't in my life.

Well He better be a bit more obvious about His signs because so far I've seen nothing obvious.

I've never known it to be outwardly obvious. It's just a nagging feeling inside of you.

I've found decreasing the amount of liquids I have before bedtime usually prevents this.

rofl

Just stay away from the coffee, tea and pop, anything with caffeine in it, there all diuretics and make you lose water.

Maybe one day I'll see some reason to go and pray but for now I don't really see one. I guess the whole idea of praying to someone I can't see or feel, that may or may not have ever existed is hard for me. I just don't know.

I pray on occasion here at home. I don't go to church though because I hate church and all it's politics.

I believe that little voice you hear inside of your head is god speaking to you. God does work in mysterious ways. Things happening, good or bad is all part of his plan. that's what i believe.

This is not about praying or about God. It's about your beliving that HELL exists.

Do you?

Like I mentioned on an earlier post, I do believe in hell. If there's a heaven there has to be a hell. I'm just not sure if it's here on earth or not.

I'm not entirely sure if I believe in the existance of Heaven or Hell to be completely honest. I believe that life on Earth is only a small part of your souls journey but I have no idea what the rest of it may be.

Do you really want to find out? I don't. Not right now anyhow. I think the only way we'll really really know the answers to that is when we die. I'm not ready to die just yet. :?

It wasn't so much about finding out in the existence of it, it was if you believed in the idea of there being hell.
