Can someone actually explain
the differences between religions? I'm a religious illiterate :oops:

The simple explanation:
Buddhism - self belief Hinduism - belief in lots of Gods - all its teaching come from a book not to dissimilar from the other books. Christianity - beleif in God - all its teaching come from a book not to dissimilar from the other books. Theres protestant and catholic and orthadox churches in different countries with different heads of those churches. The pope is only the head of the catholic church. Judaism - belief in 1 God - all its teaching come from a book not to dissimilar from the other books. Although I think they have 2 books. Islam - beleif in 1 god - all its teaching come from a book not to dissimilar from the other books. Aparently the Koran is Tony Blairs favorite read...Like I belive that, im not sure he can even read. Sikhism - belief in 1 god - all its teaching come from a book not to dissimilar from the other books. Im gonna write a book, get a time machine and go back in time.... |

Good synopsis Mondo!
I happen to find it interesting that some 7000 years ago when Abraham thought his wife could have no children.....that he produced a son with his wife's handmaiden named Ishmael. His wife later did conceive a son who was named Israel. God said then that the two would war until the end of time. Ishmael was the beginning of the varioius Islamic faiths (of which I know very little about. Israel was the beginning of Judaism....in which Catholism and Christianity branched off from. They bicker among themselves....but pretty much stand as a block. With all that being said....I look at the current war on terrorism as a global sibling rivalry. I'm with you Mondo...I would LOVE to go back in time. Chances are though...we'd find the same wars between the two.....just with less technology. I do want to add that THIS and any other religious comments I ever make are purely my own point of view.  |

No, Islam does.
Merika, unfortunaly if I had the chance to go back in time i'd steal all those books and put them in the bin and tell the guys who wrote them to lay off the acid...or tell them there current kill tallies upto the 21st century because of them. |

If God in is not in your religion it is false.
People who don't want to believe that - only want to live a life saying his rules aren't inportant. They want to do their own thing and feel it is okay. In there heats they know it is wrong or else they wouldn't try to make the wrold thing they are doing right. My mom says not one religion is right. What you have to do is listen to your own heart and find what is right for you. |
