I'm, in my adult years, non Denominational / Charismatic......so I have seen more of a union of all the various 'Christian based' beliefs in various joint meetings or concerts or shared favorite engelists. I don't think the division is there in the same capacity as there once was.
They make jabs at each other and the never ending spinkling -vs- dunking continues.....but in the end there basic precepts seem to be the same.
As far of Christianity being the 'winning' religion. I can't answer that for anyone else. If a person calls themselves a Christian and doesn't know the answer in their own heart.....then I think it's possible they have tied themselves to a religion but have missed the point or should I say.....experience.

Huh, a "winning" religion? Like Christianity, Catholocism, etc are in some huge horse race of who has the most members. I find that so ludicris! Ah well, I've never been one for understanding religions.

I guess I worded that wrong. Sorry.
I was replying to the 'how would anyone know which one was right' and I meant to say that a person who is within the 'Christian' grouping should feel they are in the 'winning' group....or else there would be no reason for them to be there. I guess 'winning' wasn't the right word....it was just how I phrased it in response.
I don't put Christian main stream religions, Catholics or Holy Rollers or anyone else based on New Testament beliefs in different groups. I think they are all the same with minor differences based on what people are comfortable with.
I think that WHATEVER someone believes....they should think it's absolutely right and has the end result they want.....or they are wasting their time believing it.
Did that sound better?

I think that believeing that you have absolute righteousness is destructive, and can only lead to ignorance.
If you're unwilling to open your beliefs to challenge and rigor, you can hardly learn much from them at all.
I like to think God reveals truth to me slowly over time, and not all at once--meaning, it's absurd for me to think that I'm absolutely right.

I don't think I'm absolutely right....but I think my GOD is....therefore, I don't go elsewhere for answers. If I didn't think He was right....I wouldn't have much faith in my God.
The deal is....this is MY God. I don't expect everyone to have the same God. They can all pick whatever works for them personally.

Huh...I like the way you think, Merika. I feel that way myself. I sort of believe a hodge podge of everything. My mom thinks I'm sacreligious, but I think I'm just exploring everything that could possibly lead to God at the end of the life.
I think it's good to keep options open, but I enjoy the faith that I have. My idea of faith is to meditate, and look for God every day. That may be me enjoying a sunset or reading a book or taking a walk to see the city lights...
I dunno...I think God is everywhere all the time. Hard to comprehend all at one time-- impossible, really.
rambly rambly rambly rambly....that's what I get for getting little sleep and running out of ciggs!

Sometimes I think all religions took one piece of God and ran with it....stuffed it in a box, put a name on it and called it theirs. HAHA!
I suspect He's much bigger and grander than all out silly a$$ed boxes.
