Default Being Baptised

I personally don't think it changes a person's salvation if they are immersed, sprinkled, or neither....but it's a big deal at the Baptist church that Jackson attends. He was baptised today after giving it alot of thought, asking alot of questions, and deciding this is what he really wanted to do.

He's not forced to go to church or believe anything the way I do...so it's nice that he searched around and made some personal calls on his own. He really did have a fear that he would die and go to hell, so he's been working on fixing that all on his own.

Just thought I would share.

It was something he wanted to do so we supported him on it. Actually, it surprises me how strong his convictions have become within the past six months. I'm glad he's following his own drummer instead of worrying if his friends think he's goofy.

I was baptised and confirmed at the same time...

My friend Jessica wants to get baptised because she thinks that is the way to heaven or how she will be saved. I told her to go for it if she really wants to, but she thinks she's too old (31 next week).

I don't think ANY age is too old. If someone wants to do it...then they should. No matter what.

i was baptized shortly after birth as was all my brothers and parents and grandparents and so on. I got my kids baptized shortly after birth as well. it's jsut the way the catholic religion does it. i didn't get erika baptized because i think that should be left up to krystal to decide. she says she'll have them both done at the same time. probably when she gets erika back.

my one brother who has two kids got them baptized shortly after birth as well. the other brother i have that has kids didn't.

i personally don't think being baptized means a lot. i just did it because that's what i was brought up to do.

I got baptized just a couple of years ago myself. I think it's important to do, the reason why may be kind of silly but i figured if Christ said it is good to be baptized then who am i to question him. Everyone always looks at it as some way to wash away sins or whatever, but i look at it this way, it's really all about being obedient to God isn't it? I mean if you love, trust and believe in God why question what it's for or wheather it's good for you just trust that it's good to do and do it for God. That's the way i look at it.

Alexander will be about 6 months old b/c I'm planning it for Christmas time so all my friends will be home. Our church has the Godparents participate in the Baptism- how does that work when you are an adult?
