Default What makes you a good parent?

I'm just wondering. I know that many people think their good parents but I also know that you get a different story if you talk to their kids.

I'm wondering, what makes you a good parent and how have you come about your knowledge that you are in fact a good parent?

I don't know that I'm a great parent at all. I put my kids first in every decision I make or dollar I spend.....but emotionally I can be more selfish with my time. I'm better than most because I think about it and try to fix what is wrong....but I'm not great.

I think the measure of a great parent is coming to terms with your flaws and being honest about them to your kids.

I KNOW I am a great parent because I spend alot of quality time with my child, ( I only started doing this since the accident in the hospital) But I make sure that he is always having a good time and gets to explore all sorts of entertainment and quality faimy time togeather ( plus I know that there will be a time he will be embarassed to hang out with ol' mom ) So I take advantage of it now.

I know because his teachers at school always tell me that Noah loves to come to school on Mondays and tell them about all the fun stuff we did togeather, plus they always tell me that I am the most active parent in the class.... that makes me feel like a million bucks..

Not to High Jack this thread!!! But Noah my son barley speaks due to complications but yesterday I said I love you and he said clear as day " I LOVE YOU MORE!!!!""" Happiest day in my entire life!!! :wtf: :smileyparty:
