Default Strict Parents?

How strict were your parents? What areas did you later agree with them on or still disagree with them on?

They we're pretty strict, I am starting to follow there pattern 100% with my father though.

I remember when I was a kid he took all of our toys and threw them in the garbage ( I am sure we deserved it) I looked out my window crying for hours becasue I wanted my toys back... ( he got them out when I feel asleep) I learned a lesson that day and was pretty good for a couple of months... now when Noah throws a tantrum or throws his toys around his room in rage I pick up a garbage bag and throw them away... he reacts the same way I did

My parents weren't overly strict...but they had some totally STUPID rules.

I couldn't wear shorts in public.
I couldn't go to school dances until I was 15.
My Dad inspected our rooms for cleanliness ( I do this one with my kids). We were never allowed to talk back or beg for a second opinion....NO meant NO ( I wish I had done this with my kids)

I never got in much trouble......my brother sure did though. If he didn't make his bed.....my Dad would flip his matress on the floor. My parents didn't put up with any crap.

My parents are strict on somethings, like being late, but not at all on others, like drinking.

my parents weren't home enough to be strict. we basically did what we wanted because they were absent everyday. when they were home, they'd try and lay down rules but by that time it was too late. we were all so independant that it didn't go over to well with us.
