Default Pacifiers

So of course they change recommendations ALL THE TIME- but right now the word is your kid should sleep w/a pacifier to help prevent SIDS.

Well Alexander wants NO PARTS of it- sometimes he'll take it for a few minutes when he first lays down but he always ends up spitting it out. Even in his sleep he'll get lockjaw to keep the ninny out. Any suggestions to get him to take it? I don't want him becoming dependant on one but SIDS FREAKS ME OUT so I would really like him to have one at night....

I think you'll lose that particular battle faye. He'll be fine, the advice about sleeping position, bedding and temperature is backed by research. as you say, the pacifier advice changes all the time, it's not as reliable. Try not to worry. And congrats!! I missed the birth announcement

Default Re:

both my kids and erika had a "sousou" as babies and they all spit them out when they're sleeping. I think that's the norm. I agree with Meanon, try not to worry too much. I know that's easier said then done because as moms, we worry. That's our jobs and that job never ends.
