Default Nursing rant

I don't understand why people are so "anti nursing" I still nurse Ally she is 4 months old a few people just think that is gross, or stated " it's not my thing" or " how can you do that... isn't it uncomfortable, it's a sexual thing"

I have tried to keep my patience and educate people about it more than anything. It is a personal choice and I don't have a problem with it at all. jeeze what do you think ladies did before the bottle was invented. people drink milk have have no quams about it where do they think that came from????

Why is such a natural thing such a debate? Have we become so "comercialised" that the natural and healthy act of nursing your child is unapporiprate but man made nutrients is approiprate?

And WHy is it viewed gross, or sexual to some?

wow! around here if you don't nurse your baby, you're looked down upon. I remember people asking me why i didn't chose to nurse my kids and lecturing me on how much more healthy it was for the baby to be nursed then formula.

Seeing a mom nurse her baby never bothered me no matter where she was doing it. i've seen moms nurse at the mall, on the bus, on the street, in the park, restaurant. I think it's the most natural and beautiful thing ever! ally is only 4 months old. she should be nursed until the age of 1. nothing wrong with that at all!

I'd be teeling them to stick their comments where the sun don't shine. how can nursing be a sexual thing??? there is no pleasure from that (from what i hear from everyone i know that nursed), it hurts at times.

I did know a girl who nursed her baby still at age 2-3. now i think that was a little over the top but a baby who is under the age of 1, that's just normal. a baby should be on formula that long too. erika's still on formula. she only drinks 2 bottles of it a day but she's still getting it. so what's the difference?

stone, just tell them if they don't like it, then leave.

In this day and age people are complaining about breast feeding, how? There are countless amounts of publicly accessible studies that prove the longer you breast feed your child, the less likely they are to have health problems later in life. I'll actually dig up some of these facts, put them on the main page and link the article here.

I need some sleep but here are a few of countless good resources on the benefits of nursing. I'm pretty sure the cardinal rule of thumb is the longer you can nurse, the better for you and your baby.

I'll make a news article of this later:

Anyone who says breast feeding is bad for babies is talking entirely out their @ss.

i guess!!!! breastmilk is the healthiest milk a baby can have.

people stop breastfeeding there when the baby starts to have teeth stone? why? baby's only get 4 teeth in their mouths until they're 12 months. at that time, breastfeeding should stop. even if you could pump the milk it would be good for the baby.

I regret not breastfeeding my babies. i wish i would've done it. i took them both off the formula at 6 months too. wish i would've kept them on it until at least a year. erika has 10 more cans of concentrate left then that's it for the formula. i'm even debating whether to put her on regular milk or putting her on enfagrow for the next year.

I think each mom should make their own choice on the matter. My boobs were so big....I was afraid I would suffocate the baby to the point that I tensed all up and couldn't breast feed at all. Didn't even want to.
