Default Met the boyfriend today

Krystal made arrangements with me last week to meet her new boyfriend today. She really wanted me to meet him and she said that he really wanted to meet us as well. Hubby's working so he wasn't here to meet the guy. I wish he would've been because he's better at "feeling" a person out then I am.

I have to admit that this guy seems really nice. His pants don't hang down to his knees (he wears track pants), he's clean cut, clean shaved and looks decent. I did notice a tatto he has on his neck on his way out. It looked like some kind of symbol to me. I hope it's not a gang thing. I'll have to remember to ask about that the next time I see him or talk with Krystal.

I was asking this guy (Christopher) all kinds of questions. I sort of felt like a drill seargent but oh well! LOL! He's 20 yrs old (I wish he were a little younger but still better then 23), he finished high school, he just moved down to this area a month ago on his own and is now starting a new job on Monday, he plans on going for his electrical apprentice soon. He seems to be somewhat responsible. He now rents a room in somebody's house as room and board.

If this is a good guy, then maybe he'll be a good influence for Krystal. Only time will tell I suppose. I'm just happy that she really wanted me to meet him. That means something to me.

she's been visiting erika almost regularly. Except for that week that she was out of town, she does try and get here at least 4 times a week to spend time with her. Her problem is transportation and having no money for bus fare. I refuse to give her any and I won't. she chose to be out on her own, she can get here on her own and get back home on her own. I'm not going to give her any money of bus tickets. The children's aid worker said she would drop some bus tickets off on friday here to me so that I can give krystal what she needs everytime she comes here but she must of forgot about it. I'll have to give her a call on monday and make sure she brings them after work.

When krystal is here, she spends all of her time with erika. she kisses her, feeds her, changes her, plays with her and holds her the whole time. She loves her, I know she does.

Maybe he's a solid enough guy to help turn you daughter around, hopefully anyway.

he wouldn't have an instant family since hubby and i are the ones raising erika. erika lives here with us, not her. so that isn't even an issue at this time and it won't be for years to come.

Well it is encouraging that at least mom visits the baby regularily. I think you've done a great job star considering the circumstances. You should be proud of yourself, I know that I'm proud of you.

thank you so much duke.

i was talking with my dad yesterday on msn and he told me that he's very proud of me as well for doing what i'm doing for erika. I was a troubled teens myself so hearing that from my dad makes me happy. Erika's my little gift from god. she really is a joy to have around. it's nice to see hubby get all goo goo with a baby again too. she kind of brought life back into this house for us. less time but lots more life. I couldn't imagine not having her here. she's my very special little girl

The bright side is that as long as she's interested in someone else.....she'll be less likely to get back with the jailbird.

I agree with the money aspect.....I wouldn't help her out financially while she chooses not to live in your home and abide by your rules. Once she settles down a little.... you could always purchase her a bus pass booklet for her birthday to enable her to come visit more often.

Is she working or has any plans on returning to school?

she is court ordered to go back to school, take parenting and anger management classes and counselling. her next court date is in march sometime. she should be in all of that by then. if not, they'll probably put her in jail and make her do all of that, I don't know. She decided not to go to the school for teen moms now. she's talking about going to the regular high school close to where she's living. she hasn't registered yet and 2nd semester starts on the 3rd of february. she better get her butt in gear! i don't have much faith in her going back to school to be honest. she doesn't have a job either. she'd probably get fired if she did get one. she's so immature and irresponsible!

It's a shame she can't see down the road far enough to realize she is only sabotaging her own life. Without an education or good job skill.... she is SO limiting her options as an adult.
