Default Little Babies

You know, you really do forget the cute little things that babies do when they're growing. Erika makes me laugh most of the day every day.

She's almost 4 months now and she's trying really hard to pull herself up in a sitting position. She can sit by herself for about 10 seconds now. She started sleeping right through the night at 1 1/2 months old which was a dream for me!! She started to smile, coo and laugh at 2 1/2 months and now I can get her to belly laugh. It's soooooo cute and funny!!!

Last week she got a jolly jumper. I put her in it and she couldn't even touch the floor. Today I put her in it and she's touching the floor and making herself bounce up and down. She looks so cute in that thing! she's still so tiny! LOL!

She started to try and grab for toys a few weeks ago. she takes her soother out of her mouth then tries to put it back in. it's so funny cause she misses most of the time but she keeps on trying! She's discovered her hands and now wants to use them.

All these little things I forgot about with my own kids! You forget all these cute little things that your babies did until you see a baby doing them again.

Erika looks so much like Krystal when she was a baby. Everyone that sees her says so. I thought so but it was hard for me to tell since I'm with her everyday.

Anyways, thought I'd share on what's happening with erika. She was doing something cute and I thought about writing it in here. I sound like a proud mama! LOL

Thanks for sharing, I love babies and all the things they do as they are learning to interact with their world. I still have very fond memories of when my son was a baby. I remember one time, before he could crawl. I turned around for a second and when I looked back, he was gone. I had an instant moment of sheer panic and then I looked and he was like 8 feet away. I was like, "how in the hell did he do that, he can't even crawl?". A couple days later, it happened again. This time I was determined to see how he did it So I went about 10 feet away, where I could see him but he couldn't see me. Sure enough after about 10 minutes, he started rolling to get to where he wanted to go. Before that boy could crawl, he was movin!

I can barely remember my kids being young enough to roll and crawl. I do remember totally loving to spend the day with them to see what they would do next. YES...that all changed once they got close to the teen years....LOL!

We will be needing some updated pictures Star!!!!

I will be getting some updated pictures up soon i hope. She is sooooo cute! I love babies at this age. they're hillarious!

All I remember from Krystal is that she was holding her own bottle feeding herself at 4 months old. Kassandra started rolling in her cradle at 3 months. just 1/2 roll. they both started walking at 10 months without the help of holding on to anything. Oh and I do remember krystal's nose and chin being orange because all she would eat is orange vegetables for baby food. LOL! that's about all i remember them doing really.

I can't wait until i can take erika out for walks. that's one thing I always did with my kids was take them outside for walks. poor erika and i are cooped up in here until spring because i can't push a buggy in the snow.

I feel so lucky that I get to see every progress with my grand-daughter. i don't get to miss a thing. She's making me feel young again! not that i'm THAT old yet! :?

I can barely remember the events that took place yesterday. I do miss the days when my daughter was 2 years old, she was so cute. Now she's bigger, cute still, but no longer a baby.

it is!! I couldn't imagine growing old with no kids.

babies are very cute when they're 2 and 3. i used to hate the terrible 3's (because it's not terrible 2's, it's 3's) but i'd trade that in for terrible teen anyday! LOL! I'd rather be chasing the kid around then having that nasty attitude thing!

How old is your daughter now duke? They do grow up so fast don't they? It seems likeyesterday mine were babies.

you don't want to raise your grand-child twinkle. I wish that my daughter was mature and responsible enough to raise her own child and I can be the "normal" grand-mother. you want your child to raise his/her own child. You will see all this amaizing stuff that comes with raising a baby when you raise your own children. It is a wonderful thing!

Ahahahaha!

What I fear is that I'll be such an authoritary mom that my kids would do just what I did only to be able to get myself free out of my mom's influence: run til the other corner of the world.

And then I won't even see those grand kids, LOOL!!! I think it's difficult to be a mom. Never thought of being a grandma, really!

Erika made me nervous too at first because it was 12 years since i had my last baby! she did hold up her head pretty early. in about a month, we didn't have to hold it for her anymore. She's a strong and healthy little baby girl!

what i'm really happy about is that she was just as good as my kids were about sleeping through the night. Krystal and kassandra both were sleeping right through the night at 1 month old...erika took a couple more weeks but thank god for that! One thing i always hated was those middle of the night feedings! at least i get to sleep through my nights. I'm lucky for that and very grateful!

twinkle, you'll be a great mom. You really are never ready to have kids until you actually have one. For me, when I had krystal (my firstborn), everything came to me naturally. I automatically knew what cry was for what need and everything. The motherly instict really is a strong thing. you don't know you really have that until you give birth to your first child. you'll be great!

I was never nervous either. The only scare was when Isis was about 2 weeks old and turned blue. She had some additional fluid which hadn't come out of her lungs. That really scared me. We lived somewhat out of town...but I called 911 and they talked me right through it with using a nose syringe to suck it right out of her mouth. After that......everything else seemed easy.
