Default Ignoring a Child's Signals

Do you think many over-taxed, over-strained parents ignore the signals of a Child's pain when the child keeps it inside? How does a Parent get a child to talk who is non-talkative? Do you think it's possible to start communicating with a child when there was none before trouble started?

Default Re: Ignoring a Child's Signals

I don't think it has much to do with how much time a parent has. Your child is more likely to talk if you talk to them a lot and value what they say. There are personality differences, my eldest describes every thought and emotion. if my youngest is upset (thankfully rare) she often has no idea why she feels the way she does and it takes lots of cuddles and discussion and trial and error to find out. Much more common a problem is that caring parents dismiss something as trivial which is quite serious. Some don't care much at all. Yes, communication is always possible.
