Default Friends

Has your child ever had friends that you totally didn't like? As a matter of fact....disliked them so much until you almost felt guilty for feeling like that about another kid?

Did YOU ever have friends your parents didn't like? Was their dislike warranted?

my oldest daughter's friends i can't stand. She used to have good friends that I did like but that all changed when she turned 13.

my youngest daughter had this one little friend who i needed to grow into. She was sneaky and no good and I knew it. I caught her, talked to her about her behaviour then she tried real hard to get me to like her. I did in the end. Poor little thing had major problems at home (deadbeat parents). so yeah, i felt guilty about that one.

My parents didn't like too many of my friends. Especialy my best friend because they thought she was the bad influence on me. it was the other way around. She's still my best friend till this day (since the 3rd grade) and now my parents finally like her! There were a couple of friends that my parents didn't like and they were right about, but for the most of them, my parents were wrong.

I've actually had kids I've called names and ran them off with a broom! HAHA!

My Mom had like a sixth sense. If she said someone was no good....you could set your clock on it. She was always right.

I have the tendency of believing the best about people....then find out I'm terribly wrong.

There were two teen boys who loved in our neighborhood. Their mom had a peg leg...so we called her 'kickstand'. She actually let my daughter skip school and hang out at her house all day....ofcourse in return my daughter was stealing my cigarettes and any cash laying around for her.

I hated her AND those fruity a$$ed boys of hers. Finally, one day I had enough. Every time I turned around they were back in my yard. So....I took my broom, cussing like a lunatic and ran them down the road.

I'm sure it looked funny to the neighbors....but I didn't care at the time.

Later....they broke into my house and trashed it along with some other friends of theirs. This was right before their mom got busted for crack. They are now all in whatever jails were age appropriate for them.

I would've done the same thing as you in that case. there was this idiot of a lady in the last building that i managed and i couldn't do anything about her letting my runaway daughter stay there while i was working there because i was her manager and that wouldn't of been too professional BUT, when i quit that job, the first thing i did was knock on that witches door and told her that my daughter was NOT to go there again (authorities didn't want my daughter there, this lady's been told by all of them more then once). demanded she get all my daughters things while i waited at her door. she was terrified! and she should be! I wanted to rip her a new you know what but i'm more of a lady than that so i just put the fear of me in her instead. well, she knows i don't live in that city anymore and she's back at doing it. Wouldn't she be shocked to see me at her door? i know how you felt about that family. i have one like that now to deal with.

I'm hoping she gets her kids taken away from her (I have reported her several times to CAS) and she goes to jail for harboring minors. she does this with a lot of runaway kids that do have warrants and missing person's files out there. she gets away with it. again, the wonderful laws that protect the criminals.

you got that right! got enough of my own problems with my own kids for god sakes! LOL!

i think it makes them feel important. they feel like they're "saving" a kid in trouble when in fact, they're making things worse. I would never keep someone else's kid in my house without calling either their parents or police to let someone know where the kid is. some poor distraught parent could be looking for that child! it's happened to me many times. starting when my daughter was 13!! nothing i could do about it. it's crazy!

This peg leg woman, like I mentioned, had these kids stealing from their parents for her! I used to call her Ma Barker (not sure that would mean anything to someone in Canada).

I think any adult who wants to hang around a bunch of teenagers is CREEPY!

I have no problem with any of my daughters friends until I find out they give her grief, then I'm on the warpath. I try not to judge and if I do judge, I keep it to myself until asked.

I really, really like the friends of my boys, the ones I met, I mean! I work with some of them and they come over and make me laugh! They are very respectful to me as I am to them. One even said he was in love with me when both were in high school. I was quite touched!
