I saw this on the news today. I couldn't believe what I was watching!!!

I don't think the boys should've been charged with assault, I think that bus driver should've been charged with that for sure!! and to be suspended WITH pay?!? What is that?!?

you know, there is no reason to attack a kid like that unless he's holding a gun or something. that was something that the bus driver should not have done to those boys. He simply should've made a report and have them suspended from taking the bus instead of pushing his weight around like he did.

LOL OMG I can't believe it made Canada News!!!

We area doing some work on the bus drivers home from hurricane Damage, I saw him yesterday and he isn't allowed to talk about it at all. A Peice of the story that is missing is that these kids have constantly egged and shot paint balls at the bus drivers house, the boys constantly scream and fight with other children on the bus, The kids are major trouble and have been arrested SEVERAL times at just 13-15. Now this is absoulutley no excuse for the bus driver to hit these kids and I am sure he will be in deep crap but I am glad that the kids got charged as well. as of now the parents of the children are not pressing charges. The other students on the bus must be shocked as well.

I just don't understand why he didn't wait for the police, he called the police and THEN got into a confritation with the kids he should have just waited.

If these kids were so much trouble on the bus prior to this, then they should've been banned from taking the bus for the rest of the year.

Has this man charged these kids with the vandalism they did to his house? He might of been better off to put out a peace bond out on those kids then this might of never happened.

he should've waited for the police to arrive. I'm with DA though. If a bus driver or anyone that was an adult would've hit me, I would've hit him right back.

Oh I agree and am absouletly not sticking up for him, I am sure that the parents will change there mind after they see that this news is all over the worls and sue the School Board for hiring him.

This is the 6th inncodent of horrific things happening in my area with bus drivers, needless to say my kids will NEVER EVER ride the bus and it would be much easier if they would because it has been proven in my area that bus drivers can not be trusted. It's a shame they can't find good employees it's a city job with great benifits plus it pays like $13 bucks an hour

idiot bus drivers are everywhere. my kids had a couple bus drivers that would swear at the kids and call them names. I'll never forget this one lady that drove my kids to school. I reported her to the bus lines, the school and the school board. do you think they got rid of her? no! they just put her on a different route whihc was fine with me because then she couldn't pick on my kids. kassandra was only 5 at that time.

I think the bus drivers need to be thoroughly screened and need to take courses on how to handle tough situation with kids. As parents, the life of our child is in their hands to and from school. That is a scary thought when you think of all the unstable bus drivers there are out there. Something deffinately needs to be done.

This particular bus driver that's in the news now should NEVER be allowed to drive a bus load of kids ever again after what he's done. I don't care how bad a kid is, that was no reason for him to do to those kids what he did.

We had some punks like that in our neighborhood. They are mean and smart-a$$ed. Only until you have to deal with them day after day...do you finally lose it. I've ran more than one off with a broom in my hand. They have no respect and don't care what they do. I don't blame this guy a bit.
All kids aren't 'darlings'.....some are just punky little jerks. They demolish other people's property, they don't have any respect, they know THEIR rights and abuse yours. I can't imagine having to drive a bus in traffic day after day with kids like that. They danger everyone else on the bus.

I thought it was funny as h*ll. If one of them hit me....I'd smack them too.

I am with Merika on this.

If I were to take the place of Gerry, and insulted you time and again Star, at every opportunity that is given, I can't reasonably expect that you would not lose it, would you? Of course not.

If you are the bus driver, there is no way you can avoid punks. You have to take them, and they may freely insult you with the job? If I were him, I would sue the parents of these pesky children for giving him high blood pressure, and a weakening of the heart.

This bus driver had the highest grades, so there is no doubt about his ability. He should be given a second chance. And if a busdriver reports pesky children, let a police officer join the ride.

yes but then if those kids were tomenting him day after day on the bus, then they should've been kicked off the bus for the rest of the year. After the first or second incidence, they should've been kicked off the bus. That would have been the thing to do instead of putting the rest of the innocent kids in a state of shock. It didn't have to get to this point.

Ahh here is the part the Media doesn't cover. Greg talked to the guy yesterday again. he is being charged with a Mistermeador ( sp?)

SUPPOSABLY the 15 year old hit the bus driver 1st then the bus driver called the cops. witch is what he is doing in the begining of the tape the kid's wouldn't shut up so he lost it. ( I agree he shouldn't have hit them, and waited for the police,) But the media doesn't show that part of the fight!!

4 bus drivers have come foward stating that these kids constantly provocked them in the past few years one woman bus driver who I think is this man's g/f quit her job because these boys we're so mean. IMO they should have lost there bus privlidges!! The boys are being charged with Felony and the bus driver is being charged with a Mistemeanor because he left the keys in the ignition while he was away from his drivers seat. I can't believe it. I'll let you know if we hear anymore gossip

A misdemeanor offence? For letting the keys in the ignition? Seems a bit harsh. But of course he brought the kids in danger, if some kid had the courage to go to the busdriver's seat, and drive the whole vehicle. As that is prohibited anyways for various reasons, I think they should not make too much out of this.

As for the felony charges, they make perfect sense. I don't know how the bus scheme works out exactly, but I imagine that the number of kids is influencing pay, and the number of busdrivers that are hired by the school; in a way encouraging the bus drivers not to report kids if they misbehave. It brings their own job in danger.

I think kids who cause problems or are habitually truent...should be picked up every morning by an armed police paddy-wagon and shackled till they get to school. And YES...that would go for my kids too!

that might work with straightening these delinquents out. The system is way too soft on kids IMO.
