Default Best Learning Toy for kids

My son got the V-Tech Smile ( Nintendo like) video game for Christmas. I ususally don't "indorse" products but I am amazed on how educational this is.. It's a fun Video Game like toy with Educational Programs with Math, Spelling, History ect. and it can even teach you diffrent languages.. I think it is great and I will tell him he HAS to play his video game everyday... Bet he will love that . It is geared for Pre-School to 5th grade.. Just thought I'd share.

They have such a wide variety of educational toys out there for kids it's amaizing! I have lots of educational computer games that my kids played when they were younger. We also have nintendo but I never allowed my kids to sit there and play that for hours on end everyday. They would have a set time to play it and it didn't happen everyday. I know some kids who do just that is play nintendo and that's not a good thing!

Now with Having Erika here, I'll have fun buying her all the nifty toys they have out there. Hubby will have to stop me or we'll go broke just from buying toys! LOL! I saved a couple things from my kids like their fisher price play house (that I stocked with all the accessories) so that i'll clean up and she'll play with it in a couple years.

How about kids movies? are you a collector of those? I have over 200 kids movies. i bought every disney movie there was out there plus the wb and other ones. It all started with Pinnochio when Kassandra was only 1 year old. I've stopped buying movies now since i have them all! LOL!

Yep we have about a million kid movies my son is only aloud to watch rated G movies and shows so we have to buy everything.

Have you looked in to BAby Einstein for Erika? It's very educational and inexpensive. they also have alot of BABy sign language tapes witch I think is wonderful, We HAVE to teach the new baby sign due to Noah's language barrier but It is very benificial to babies.

I am fluent in sign because of Noah's Apraxia. But studies have shown that children 2 and under have the potential to have a conversation and express wants but the vocal isn't fully developed yet. So small kids/ babies that use Sign Language have better communication skills.

I have all the Disney/Kid movies on tape. Now everything is DVD. Is there a way to copy them from one media to another?

You might be able to do it with one of those dvd recorders they have out now. I have all mine on tape too. We have 3 vcr's and 1 dvd player in the house. Any movies that I buy from now on will be dvd's. I really don't like the idea of dvd's because they can get scratched so easy. They save space though.

My daughter got that years back and it was very educational and fun for her as well. It was like a mini laptop that played games, puzzles and music, she used it a lot and I'm sure it helped her.
