The way to describe quikly the difference between Republican and Democrat...is
Democrat-more freeley.
Republican-More bye the book
Im a republican i am more bye the book person i donnot like john kerry because I think he is a liar i think if on a debate or campaign if either canidate is caught lying or saying something that doesnt have facts supporting it and can be proven wrong basicly there should be a penalty.....

Sn00py....it's great for a young person to have an opinion and pay attention to the news.
What do you do though if BOTH people are lying or stretching the facts?

I'm not sure what you meant by that second paragraph.
Even though it made as much sense as anything I heard during the dates! HAHA!

I refuse to do either. Any party stupid enough to put a criminal or liar in charge doesn't deserve my vote.

Snoopy.....I always vote by party affiliation. I'm a strong believer in this...as long as that party represents 'the most' of my personal views on issues. It surprises me when someone will vote for someone based only for ONE reason.
Duke.....Not every election brings about a shining star candidate like Ronald Reagan (Republican) or John F. Kennedy (Democrat). They go with who can bring in the most electorial votes, can raise the money to pay for a campaign, has the energy to do the campaigning, etc.
I went on a big tangent here....but deleted it.
Based on the thread topic I think there is no reason for a 'debate' unless there is a panel present to 'correct' statements in which figures are fudged by either candidate. It's makes the whole thing a joke and a lie.
It won't keep me from voting for my choice though. Politics are politics. It's a fools game.

I'm actually aware of that Merika but still don't accept it. Maybe because I'm a Taurus and I'm stubborn as hell but I just can't justify getting in the car, dragging my arse to the polls, staring at a ballot with names of morally compromised characters, picking one and not caring about the final result.
If I believe in a candidate then I will vote for him/her. I do take into account that we all have our faults but cannot accept giving the key to the country bank and my hard earned dollars to a man staring at me through a black ski mask.
I wasn't around for Kennedy but I was for Reagan. I'd likely have voted for Clinton as well but certainly not for Bush or Kerry.

Its a case of picking a lesser of two evils though. Pick which one you like least and vote for the other. You should vote just because of that.

Great posts in this thread!
Seriously, do you think the Iraqi people have a better life now after their country has been in war?... they have to build up everything they had again..
Another thing to add is that the US failed in protecting all the important facilities in Iraq.
People were able to walk away with all the nuclear technology Iraq had, entire factories are being smuggled out of the country and are offered for sale, nuclear waste can be aquired uncaught...
The world became more dangerous because of this war.

I've learned more about the war in Iraq from this community than anywhere else. May sound stupid but I was one of the few people in the world not following it's progress that closely.
