McCain Camp Knocks Down Enquirer's Palin Rumor - From The Road

John McCain’s campaign threatened legal action against the National Enquirer today for running a story about McCain’s running mate, Sarah Palin, allegedly having an affair with her husband’s business partner.

Sheesh, I wonder when this will end for Palin...

When people like McCain stop whining about it - that only adds fuel to the fire.

If the story is untrue, Palin can take legal action herself, if she wishes to.

I hate election years for just this reason. Rags like the National Enquirer just make things worse. I will be glad when it is all over.

In all fairness- it was the campaign that responded- Palin is part of the campaign.



They have nothing else to attack her on so it appears the personal attacks will continue until the end

This is just a front line in the Culture War turning from Cold to Hot.

On one side, we have the Trifecta of Political, Academic, and Media Elite with their Greek Chorus of Hollywood Celebrities - on the other, Regular Folk with Middle Class Values.

The former have for years played a con game in which they claim to Guide, Enlighten, and Fight For us Regular Folk. But now that one of us has dared to raise her head to a height which they believe is reserved for them(rarified)selves, they want to smack her down as quickly and violently as they can - and in such a way that none of the rest of us will get uppity.

They have no idea whom they are up against. In the face of Strength of Character, they are just so many rats and cockroaches fleeing into the shadows.

In all fairness- Obama had taken his share of personal hits as well. He's been called a Muslim Extremist many many times and I do not think that is fair either.

From his own party - and he has pre-accused the GOP of being racists. He's playing the game himself.

He also took up for Palin's daughter publically.

He's not fit to be leader of the US but I don't think saying "he did it first" helps anybody's cause.

It was proper for him to speak out against attacking Palin's daughter, especially in light of his own claim that his wife is off limits even if she gives a political speech.

He did this while his own operatives were spreading the false rumor that GOP members were afraid of an Eagleton regarding her. How classy.

Just sayin- both sides are guilty of mud slinging.

I believe in rewarding good behavior. If they could all find common ground on leaving family alone and focusing on the candidate- it would be a much more informative (if boring) campaign season.

I agree - as long as that behavior is sincere.
