Default The numbers

Given the state of the middle east today i thought i would post a little information as to what both the Islamic and the Jewish peoples have given of themselves to make the world better place in which to live. The numbers are very discouraging for the Islamic populace don't you agree?

Noppers. No peace in the Mid East ever. There are a handful of countries in there who don't really want peace or else they would have nothing to do. Killing other people and each other is their only real national past time.

That's a funny way to think about it, Killing Jews Is like baseball for Isamic nations :P

Gosh those numbers are disparaging aren't they? I hate to think of all the people who have been lost, both mentally and physically, to the violence in the middle east. Very sad indeed, generations of children utterly destroyed forever by their parents bigotry and hatred and lies about Jews! I'm begining to think there can't be any rehabilitation for these people anymore, the violence and lies about Jews are so much a part of their culture i don't think they want to pursue tollerance of the Israelis. I mean, the Arab's teach their children that Israelis bake pies with the blood of Arab children, what kind of BS is that? I don't believe this is about land either, i think they just want to kill.

I think you're right Merika, i don't think they want peace at all. I really think wheather they have independance from Israel and their own land or not there will always be violence until either the Jews are dead or the Arabs are dead. Maybe i'm biased, but i really don't attribute this violence to the Israelis, and i think these numbers prove that concept fairly well. As well as the fact that they could have had peace a long time ago if they would have wanted it.

Israel was more than willing to give up land under the Clinton years for peace but they refused what was being offered, which was actually everything they claimed they wanted from Israel. It would have meant they would have had to stop trying to kill Israelis and i don't think they can give up their hatred of Israel.

If the Islamic populace as a whole, are truly seeking peace in the middle east why are they not pursuing the acidemic endevors it takes to establish that kind of peace? Why are they investing money in training little 6-year-old kumar's militant training and not in schools, hospitals, colleges etc? They aren't interested in peace.

I still can't believe the numbers are this skewed in favor of the Jews though, that's just astounding to me. I just don't see how the United Nations can demand anything from Israel? Given these numbers, I don't even think the Arabs know history, much less the history of their own lands.

I'm sure there are good people in there, just as there is in Iraq, but unless someone removes their messed up leaders, these people have no way of having a normal life at all. I truly feel sorry for all of them.

I email with a young guy who is very much in love with an Iraqi girl. Due to circumstances, he can't marry her or bring her back home. He said they were a loving people but years of wars and brow-beating have almost ripped out their hearts. They don't know who or what to believe either.

I think they are pretty much victims and prisoners of their own religion and culture. The ones who believe that violence is the only way to achieve paradise are holding the ones, whom we consider to be moderate, hostage and forcing their beliefs on them through the threat of death. Like the suicide bombers in Israel, most of them are tricked into blowing themselves up they don't really want to do it. The ones who live, often say it was a mistake.

I feel sorry for that young man you converse with, if her family isn't VERY moderate and they find out she has a relationship with a young GI chances are she could be killed by her own family. If any of the militant's get wind of her romance God help her ...I know they will kill her. That's why i don't think it's a good idea for GI's to get involved with women in foreign combat zones, it wound up bad for my father too when he fell in love with a woman in Vietnam. She disappeared and he never seen her again.

That makes sense on the surface, but actually war can be an odd tool for bringing mankind together. I live in a Navy town where many have spent their duty stations with the Asian countries, thus many of the marriages are mixed. You would have hard time around here finding someone prejudice against an Asian woman or mixed kids because it's common place.

If we can achieve that in the mid east....it would be the miracle of love. And I do believe it can be done.

My Dad married my mom in Germany after the war. Her family beat her and hated him. But love prevailed. End result is that they raised kids with an understanding of both the Christian and Jewish faith. It's the way to go.

We don't have to give up what we believe in order to accept those who believe differently. And in many cases....we have converts....such as my mom who has proven to be a stronger Christian than my dad. It's all good. We've just got to stand back and let God do His thing.

While i agree love can overcome in even in the worst cases, and yes I believe even in the middle east it's possible for a young man and an eastern woman can fall in love and make a life, I have seen cases in Iran and Iraq of young middle eastern women killed by their own families for simply having sex or changing their religious beliefs to marry outside of their own race or religion. It's very disturbing!! The difference between Germany and the middle eastern countries is that unlike Germany the Arabic countries take their religion very seriously and western nations tend to be seen as unfaithful, if you understand what i mean?

I agree it's a situation that could work in the United States, probably much easier than it would in the middle east, but i find it difficult, given the strong religious beliefs in middle-eastern countries, to believe that even for love the women would be allowed to marry Christian men from America. This is something that is not accepted.

When i was a kid my father was going to take a job in Saudi Arabia and we were going to move there, thank God we didn't, hehe. Way too hot for me there, i would have died there!! We came really, really close though. One of the things they told me was do NOT look at the girls or women in any way that could be considdered sexual, in fact they said don't even look em in the eyes. God forbid i should have sex with one of them. If i did i could be taken out and executed or hanged!! It still stuns me today to think of how unaccepted westerners are. It's worse than civil war Arkansas there, hehe.
