I know you like and respect him Merika and I'm glad you do. All I'm saying is the guy scares me. I think he's sitting on top of the most powerful army in the world and he has an itchy trigger finger.

As far as not liking him because of the media I listen to, that's not entirely accurate. I personally do not base opinion off of the corrupt system of "make it controversial to get ratings" attitude of off much of our media. I hate the news yet spend a lot of time online searching for it to post on the front page of this site, and up until a while ago, gaming sites. I run into plenty of political news articles along the way (regardless of topic, it's all news) and have formed my own opinion on the man based off of my value system, fears, beliefs, etc. The media does not control my opinion, I do.

BTW, I'm not saying Bush is some bad guy, just a guy I don't really trust.

That's what worries me to the letter. I know you're joking, but not everyone is IMO.

I gotta tell you Merika. I was in the military for a short time. I can build a minefield, camoflauge myself, and take apart/assemble a FNC1 blindfolded (or used to be able to). Having the tools is cool, but using them is much cooler.

I also play a WW2 Combat Flight Simulation called IL 2 Forgotten Battles. The entire game is modelled around the original aircraft and is considered a simulation because of it's accuracy. I love the game because of how spectacular a damaged plane actually plummeting to the earth looks, and that's just a game.

I guarantee you, there is at least one equivalent in the army as a tank commander, a pilot, a battleship commander, etc. What if they like blowing **** up? This is what worries me.

In all honesty Duke....I think that element of fear is why we get results. I think the election showed that the US feels safe with Bush....mainly because our enemies don't. It's his strongest point.

This is an older article....but I wonder if the world knows stuff like this happens?

U.S. ships 35 tons of WMD out of Libya

SPECIAL TO WORLD TRIBUNE.COM
Thursday, January 29, 2004
The United States has flown the first weapons of mass destruction and extended-range missiles out of Libya.

The White House said the first components of Libya's missile WMD arsenal arrived in the United States on Tuesday after a last-minute agreement was reached with the Libyan regime. The White House said the shipment was composed of 25 tons of equipment that included uranium enrichment components and documents on Libya's strategic programs.

Officials said a C-17 air transport flew the Libyan WMD to the Oak Ridge nuclear weapons plant in Tennessee, the leading U.S. facility for the storage of weapons-grade uranium. They said the shipment consisted of UF-6 uranium-hexafluoride, required for uranium enrichment, components for centrifuges, and guidance systems for extended Scud C and D missiles.

Okay, I'm jumping into this debate a little late, but I'm going to throw my 2 cents in there.

The election was horrible. It was like voting between a turd sandwich and a douche bottle. (Thank you South Park for the reference material.)

I think that Bush won because Kerry couldn't keep his stuff straight. One interview he'd say one thing, and you could change the channel and on another interview he'd be asked the same question and he'd give you another response. I think it goes back to the Vietnam days. He's a traitor plain and simple and most people saw that and shuddered that he'd be a president.

As far as Bush goes, well...I am gonna have to agree with Duke on some level. He's got a hell of a lot of power and a itchy trigger finger. I do feel safer with him as president as opposed to Kerry, but that doesn't mean I think he's the most qualified to lead our nation. Personally I'd like to see Julianni or Hillary go for it.

I think everyone needs to batton down the hatches and hold on to what they have because the next four years is going to be hell. Our economy is going to get worse, gas is going to go up. And, IMO, I think we'll probably go into some sort of depression. But hey? Who am I? I just live here.

Dear Mr. Bush,

I would like to let you know that since you have helped us recover from the horror of 9/11, I have:

Started a marketing firm at 25 years old, bringing in close to $58,000 this year alone. I know it isnt a lot, but Im confident next year will be much more.

Gotten (well am getting) married to a woman who I love dearly and I still feel my marriage means the same that it meant for my parents.

Not paid too dearly as far as taxes go.

Watched my sister fight in Iraq, and not only fight, but sign up for an extra 4 years with the Airforce and even volunteer to stay in Iraq longer because she beleives in the freedom we are spreading.

Felt confident that I live under a president that is businesss minded and promotes entreprenourship

Watched the economy flourish (clients are spending like never before)

Bought a new home

Traveled safely

I could go on and on.

I voted for Bush, and Im proud of it. Im safe, Im financialy secure, I see no reason to not be greatful for that.

nuff said...

Somewhere in this past election....it seems people lost sight of the fact that a President can not go to war by himself. He has to get the permission of the House and Senate.

The SAME information was given to them from US and International intelligence....as was given to Bush. They voted YES....including the ever lying flip flopping Kerry!

If they didn't agree with it....they should've voted NO. But they didn't....why? Because there was more going on in the world than just Saddam.....who we aren't sure how he killed 5 million of his own people at a time since he had no WMD. (gigantic EYE ROLL!)

In addition, Germany had admitted they had lost 5 (yes FIVE) suitcase bombs and had reason to believe they were in Saddam's hands. There were also several other things going on.

SO...to blame Bush for the war....isn't quite accurate...nor fair. I think most Americans know this....which is why he was re-elected. Plus the fact that he returned TO THE PEOPLE the excess of taxes which was charged by the Clinton Administration.

Most people also know that during Kerry's NO WAR stand during his retarded ploy of seeking to be President....the DEMOCRATS tried to pass a bill to reinstate the DRAFT and the REPUBLICANS voted it down.

Too bad the liberal press around the world didn't tell any of those things. If they did....people would underdstand why America re-elected Bush.

Bush isn't a war monger...neither is America...but we will do what it takes to keep our country safe.

NOTE: This is only MY opinion. I am not at all suggesting anyone else's POV is invalid or wrong.

It all depends on where you post Calizza. I've shared your feelings many times though on other forums. The most important thing is to be able to express how YOU feel without anyone getting mad at you.....which everyone here is great about.

I like Bush too!
