Levi Johnston is getting some heat from the man whose job he wants to take over.
"But since I am nearly old enough to be Levi's grandfather, I think it would be wise for him to get a high school diploma and keep his clothes on. The voters like that!" he added about the former Playgirl cover model.
Johnston's ex-fiancee, Bristol Palin, also scoffed at her ex's political ambitions.
"I never knew he had political aspirations," Palin, 19, told Us Weekly. "I'm glad that Levi has not given up on completing his education and is looking for steady employment."
According to a press release for the reality show's production company, Johnston's new show will highlight his dual pursuits in Hollywood and his "red-neck" life as a single dad, skilled hunter, avid biker and wanna-be politician looking for love and success back home in Alaska.
"I'm going to go there and do what I can. Obviously, that's where I grew up and that's my home," Johnston told "ET." "It's always going to be home to me. [My son] Tripp's going to grow up there, and I want to change a few things."
Though he initially laughed at the idea of running for office, Johnston said "there's a possibility" he could win.
"I do care and I do want to make a difference," he said. "Whether I win or not, I want Tripp to look up to me and see what I've done and be proud of his dad."

LOS ANGELES - Levi Johnston, the former fiance of Sarah Palin’s teenage daughter Bristol, has filed official papers saying he intends to run for political office in Palin’s Wasilla, Alaska hometown.
Johnston, 20, has been embroiled in a nasty feud with the former Republican vice-presidential candidate since fathering Bristol’s baby out of wedlock two years ago.
He filed a “letter of intent” with Alaska authorities on Friday, stating that he plans to run for elected office in Wasilla in 2011 elections, according to documents obtained by celebrity web site TMZ.com
