Where IS the camera?
My husband and I sat by the campfire on an early beautiful Thursday morning when two deer came on to our land. The Mother eyed us up for a few moments while my husband spoke softly to her. Then "Tippy" the fawn followed (my husband's name for her/him because of the white tips on the ears) and looked us over, too! I didn't want to make any sudden moves to get the camera because they would have been gone quickly. As they sauntered down the road I slowly got my camera and by the time I got it focused only the tails were seen in the brush....story of my life!

Re: Where IS the camera?
No matter what animal, it always takes 2 seconds too long to get the camera. Or the batteries...

Another fond memory swirling down the drain.

Re: Where IS the camera?
We saw two bear in separate places as we were driving home. We also saw a dead deer on the edge of the highway with a smashed up front-end of a truck, no one in sight, though! I hate seeing dead animals on the side of the road...
Dwoing, Dwoing's Mom, and I saw a hurting little bird when we were going towards the vehicle. It was hopping about and we were hoping it wouldn't die....

Re: Where IS the camera?
Sadly in South Africa, chances are you will see corpses next to the road, or even on the road. People sometimes have to cross the highway (as pedestrians) - and get hit.

Re: Where IS the camera?
That is okay Luba. The memories are in your mind and that probably is better than a picture.

It's better than seeing them lying in bed next to you.

Re: Where IS the camera?
The animal that is run over most in this neck of the woods is a skunk!
Actually, just missed seeing a Mother duck and seven ducklings cross the highway on our trip. I was busy filling my face with the best hamburger ever when a motorist stopped to point that out to us....
I miss the best shots! ....and I wanted to become a Nature photographer! I'm like Will Ferrell and his "Shake and Bake" buddy on 'Taladega Nights' when they were putting out the invisible fire.... That was SO funny!!!

Re: Where IS the camera?
I haven't seen the movie yet. I hear it is very funny. I am just not a will ferrell fan I guess.

It is such a funny movie! I wasn't a real Will Ferrell fan until "Taladega Nights". His prayer at the table is just hilarious, too! I watched this movie three separate times and laughed every time! His friend is a real character, too! His father in the movie is Gary Cole, who played the part magnificently as a missing/showing up once in a long-while father! And the French guy was absolutely hilarious!

Re: Where IS the camera?
I have had others tell me it is funny. I guess I will have to rent or buy it.
