Default Talking to Dogs

Another curious thing that I've discovered during my recent, bachelorhood that I look forward to soon concluding is the increasing frequency I find myself talking to the dog.

I don't mean animated statements designed to compliment him or encourage him to follow me on walks: I mean deep, detailed descriptions of problems, their possible root causes, solutions, and requests for meaningful feedback!

So far, he hasn't given me any advise I've really felt was valuable, but a few days away from my family seems to have been more of a challenge to remain sane than I ever would have predicted.

Maybe its the paint fumes? Lack of sleep? Not eating anything in the vegetable or fruit food groups? Combination of all?

Please, somebody listen to these dogs and tell me I'm not the only one that hears them coherently communicating:

my dog is smart but stupid all at the same time if that makes any sense at all. He listens very well but he's such an idiot sometimes. He never learns his lesson. I highly doubt I could teach my little dog how to say a word. He would just sit there staring at me hearing "wha wha wha wha wha". LOL!

But I do love my little dggy mickey.

I don't think my dog is any canine genius:

The last heart-to-heart discussion we had was about his habit of going into the trash and chewing up dirty diapers. While he looked a little ashamed, I'm sure our resolutions went in one ear and out the other of idiot-dog.

mine has a big mouth but he's a big chicken. If he's done something wrong, you better hope he's not on the couch or he'll pee right there while you're giving him trouble (and we don't hit him, we just point our finger at him and scold him). He did that today, I could've killed the little idiot! good thing i had a blanket on the couch! He spent an hour outside on a leash in the snow. But I do love him. :?

my friend barks at dogs and thinks he understands their language...either he is weird or he really can.

i won't comment on your friend. :?

Did any of you ever watch that show about that lady who thinks she can communicate with animals? the pet psychic or something like that. I think it's all bogus, what do you all think about it (if you've seen the show)?

I am no dog lover however my dad has a service dog and I swear that dog is just like a human. He knows when to cross the street, he sits under the table at restaurants, he even knew when NOah was going to have a seizure and it isn't even his dog!! I think dogs are smarter than we give them credit for.
