Default New Puppy

I stopped at the side of the Road JUST TO LOOK at the puppies for NOah and we we're not supposed to actually get one just pet them.. nevertheless this thing is at my feet!!

It's a cute little mut, only 6 weeks old. It needs ALOT of attention witch is the last thing I need, but Noah is happy and is really taking care of it... but it has only been 24 hours and I am sure the novelity will ware off soon and I will be a pooper scooper!!

It doesn't have a name yet and we don't know WTF it is. i thought Greg would kill me when he got home but ofcouse Noah holding a little pup softened his heart I am not 100% sure we are going to keep it yet, I really didn't think about it. But I am glad I atleast got him off the side of the road, or he was giong to the pound

I've told noah we are "babysitting" the dog, just incase it doesnt' work out I can find it a good home.

I've never had a Pup before anyone know HTF to train these things?? It's outside with Noah for hours but still likes to pee on my floor I've moped the floor 3 times already

I didn't read all the stuff on there, Stone, but the "Puppy Go Potty" title is pretty intriguing...Good luck, new puppies are a lot of work, but kudos to you for bringing another smile to Noah's face; maybe it was 'meant to be', I believe in such things...

I HATE housetraining a dog. We had a crate for Cracker and he was the only easy to train dog that we ever had. I'm a strong believer in the crate thing. Then you can leave them without worrying about them hurting themselves or getting into something. I used to think crates were mean....but even when we were home....he would voluntarily go in his crate to sleep. Even after he grew out of his crate....his favorite spot is under the kitchen table. They aren't cheap...but they sure are worth it.

You really got to beat the dog sensless to get it to go to the can where you want it to.

That might be a little harsh but some dogs are pretty difficult to train while others learn right away. I think it all depends on the dogs temperment and whether or not it actually bothers to pay attention to what your telling it.

dont let it see you cleaning up the mess
dont get mad at it unless you catch it in the middle of its little deed
when you do catch it, say a firm "NO, SPOT, BAD" and put it outside
take it outside often
and crate it at night, aka put it in a travel crate so it doesnt eat your house because it wont pee/poop in its bed.
dont hit it. haha
