Default My cats are very, very bad. I just wanted to share.

I have two kittens/half grown cats. They're about 6 months old. One is a huge gray tabby (a whiny butt, and a mamma's boy), and the other is a smaller, yet just as furry orange Tabby. He's bad, oh yes, very bad.

Naked is the name of the big grey whiner, alias Mr. Eeyore, Nadie, or, "D&mn it! I said stop that Naked!!!" as we so fondly call him.

Orion is the name of our orange hellion. He has so many nick names that there is no used to print them all. I'm pretty sure he's wanted in 7 states for destruction of property.

Anyway, with introductions out of the way, I'd like to share a story, it's called, "How to destroy momma's blinds while wrecking Christmas lights in under 20 seconds," by Orion (ie the Dark Master of Destruction)

Anyway, so he knows that he's not supposed to be up on this certain window 'cause I have my Christmas lights, blinds, herb garden...which, in retrospect, I'm not sure why I thought I could have all of these things in the same house with a cat...anyway, so he makes this mad leap up from the floor and crashes through the blinds. He struggles and tears down ALL of the lights, which are now ruined, btw, and breaks the pot that held my lemon thyme and fuzzy thyme. Of course, the blinds were declared DOA.

I just really need to share my frustration and utter befuddlement w/ someone.

~YL

Default No, don't do it Stone

LOL. Don't get a cat. Buy yourself something nice.

I mean...sure, kitties are cute...but they're evil! Don't you see?

For real, I won't get another cat. They're destructive, spiteful, and they'd let someone walk in and rob your house with out a fight.

Dogs may be a pain in other ways, but at least they're useful. At least they'll guard your house. Also, you can take 'em outside and walk them, play games with them...with cats you just have to pray that they're in a decent mood when you reach to pet them.

Wow, don't I sound awful? Lol. I think I'm just really pissed off at my blinds being broken.

 BAD YL BAD!!!!

Just like every other critter- no 2 kitties are the same Can you think of a better animal than Cayanne?

Kitties are just soooo independent! Most don't care if you like them or not so they do their own thing. Doggies are suck ups! That's the main difference.

I love all animals - but kitties are great small apt pets so we have 2. They happen to be on opposite sides of the personality spectrum.

Cay is a good baby. Very well behaved, and great with other pets.

I think the main prob. is that mine are still babies. We live in a small place, and I'm sure they need more room.

Orion especially is just an outside cat. He's a great hunter (he catches flies out of the air) and he just needs more exercise. When we move to a place that doesn't have a main road 15 feet from our front door, I doubt we'll have the problems

I'm just frustrated because they are so destructive. I know they really dont' know any better, especially because we aren't around during the day to squirt them when they're bad.

Seriously, our apartment is in shambles when we come home. I hope they grow out of the phase soon.

Hrm..they are fixed...both of them...

they were fixed the day we brought them home from the pound.

Ohh, persians are cute. Cay, Faye's kitty sort of has that kind of face, and he's really sweet and laid back.

Get a male cat and make sure to pick one that cuddles up in your arms and falls asleep when you pick it up. A lot of times it seems the runts of the litters are the best pets to have. These animals seem to be more loving and less into destruction than the normal, high strung, feline.

Cat discipline works differently for all cats but some things to consider. Making a sound like a snake scares the crap out of many cats as snakes are a natural enemy of cats. Orange peels also help deter some cats from digging up houseplants and helps keep them off of windows/blinds. I've also used aggressive 3M double sided tape on cardboard and gone as far as tacks poked through cardboard to keep cats away from areas that are easily wrecked by foul play.

Getting a very tall carpeted cat scratching post is always a good idea as cats prefer height in the wild which is why they climb virtually everything in the house. Also, having grass planted indoors in a small pot is beneficial for cats because it helps keep them out of your other plants and eating the grass actually aids in their digestion.
