Default My cat is jealous

of my Computer! Normally, she just goes about her day as cats do, but if my husband is involved in his workshop, she's right there purring and crawling all over! If I am on the Computer as I am now she sits on my shoulder or walks over the keys, and purrs and purrs. I had to sit her on the floor just so I could type and she's not happy, I think she's actually sulking as she sits by my chair.
She sure has come a long way from the time anyone could barely touch her when she was abandoned and moved in with us...we really had no choice in the matter...it was meant to be and we Love her so much!!!

i had the exact same problem with a cat that was given to us, she was a wild kitten and didnt let anyone touch her for the first few days we had her then after that she came out of her hiding spot and began loving everyone it was so crazy.she was my favorite cat in the world and would crawl all over me when i was busy with homework or something ... i even taught her a little trick. you see when i would yell something she would come over to me and either stare at me and meow or come right close to my face and meow so i would lay on my stomach and yell her name (it was Wid) and she'd come over to my face then i'd turn my head and do it again and shed walk over my back and come to my face again. it was so cute and i got a bit of a massage from her feet on my back. .i miss her so much

I hope your cat is alright, Animal.

Don't know what to say about your cat being jealous of your puter, Luba.

Throw her a little ball while you're typing or make your husband take care of her. If she really is impossible, just close the door to your room.

My sister babysat a cat for 2 days - she was actually trying to hunt my sister's fingers on the keyboard - I think she was thinking that my sister was playing with her. Crazy cat.

Not really, Luba. Some cats have separation anxiety and have a fist if separated by their master. Personally, I'm too weak to keep my dog out of my room when I have things to do - he cries at the door and my heart breaks. He's having me run around his finger.

Animal, when we had to put our two dogs to sleep, one was sixteen when his heart gave out, and I thought I'd die when the Vet said there was no hope. The other female dog that we acquired when our Father-in-law said she was going to be put to sleep because he had to go into the hospital, we said "no way" and she lived with us for four years, but pined away for our dog and couldn't walk anymore, just dragged herself around, and then wouldn't move anymore. OMG, those were the hardest days for my husband and I, we grieved so much and when we were finally able to talk about it to each other, months later, we swore we would never again have an animal in our home because the pain of losing them was just too much to bare....until this abandoned cat in the middle of winter just moved in....and we love her too pieces...and you are right, Twinkle, keeping her out of the Computer Room just can't be done! She is The Queen of our little Castle...we are her Slaves...

My cat used to give me a hard time too, that's why skinned it and strung my raquet with it.

Some cats really need the attention. Or at least demand your attention. Perhaps you can look for a compromise Luba? Letting the cat sit on your lap, while you are busy with the computer?

I had a cat, who was really fond of me. I could walk her without a leash! So naturally she came up to my room, and begging for attention. So I used my left hand alternatively to use the mouse, and pet the cat.

Vautrin, I would really love if she just sat on my knee and purred, that I could handle. But she insists on crawling up to or on my shoulder, or decides to walk on the keys of the Computer...I think she just hates this Computer...

I love animals, I've got a cat which lives with my mother and I miss him. He doesn't remember me when I visit though, it sucks.

No. The problem she has, is that the computer almost gets all the attention. Most cats hate the idea of not getting all the attention from their servants at a time they desire the attention.

Blocking your view of the computer, forces you to pay more attention to her, so from her point of view it is: "mission accomplished."
