Default Iguana

How do you all feel about pets such as iguanas and snakes?

I was at a party once and the guy had this huge snake that I didn't know about. He came out with it and I heard a hissing next to my ear. I thought I was going to have a heart attack and I jumped clear across the room knocking a couple people over. Boy was I not impressed.

My husband and his young favourite uncle were out by the lake when they were young, and his uncle put a snake down his back. My husband hated snakes after that, but he loved his uncle. I think I'm pretty forgiving, but I sure as h*ll would hold a grudge after that...

Its actually not a good idea to have an iguana around children because of the parasites they can carry in their skin, or so I've read. I think it only applies to small children though.

The only reason I can't get an iguana for a while is because I want a bigger place to allow it to roam around in. Iguanas can grow as much as 8' long if their surrnoudings allow for it. You can also train them to go to the bathroom in a kitty litter box provided you get them young enough.

An 8' Iguana is a bit of a deceiving size since much of the reptile is actually tail.

Actually, Iguanas are completely harmless. The most they can do is whip you with their tail, raise themselves off the floor slightly and hiss at you, and drop their tail should you grab the end.

They don't even have teeth, just a bony palette.
