Default Christmas Pet Gifts

Do you get your pet(s) a Christmas gift? I did....it was a porcupine sqeeze toy that makes a grunting sound. The dog mashes it down with his odd flat boxer nose and it's so cute.

I also found some chewy toys shaped like candy canes that I want to get him for Christmas morning.

I am an idiot!

It's normal actually to get your pet a present, I know we always did. Usually it was milkbones or catfood, wait a sec, those were my gifts, nm.

We get our pets a gift too. we only have 1 little doggy now (we used to to have 3 dogs and 2 cats). We usually get him a couple of chew toys, dog treats and sometimes a new bed. He's got his own little stocking hung up with ours that I fill.

We even celebrate his birthday! Yup, I have a crazy sister, LOOL!

We (my dad) get toys that squeeck every once in a while. HE adores them, just takes them everywhere until the moment he pearces it with its teeth. Then he just looks at them and pushes them gently with his nose. After that he chews them.

Our Christmas gift is taking him to the country side. He adores snow but he catches cold quite easily. There he can run all he wants. We keep an eye on him, he's little, but gets himself in trouble quite easily.

Pets do manage to become an integral part of the family so I think it's only natural to treat them as children.

My two furballs are fur factories. I can't let them run loose in the countryside like that. I'd never find my overgrown rats again. I mean that in a very endearing way though.

They are two Chinchillas by the way. Older one is named Athena, the younger is Aphrodite. They are my depressio fixers.

Holy crap, don't they have a heartbeat similar to that of a jackhammer? I know hamsters do.

I'd say it's much faster then ours, so I dunno what causes them to live as long as they do. They're a very low maintenance animal as well, with very little chance of getting sick, though if they do, vet bills add up quickly do to the hard time of operating on such a small animal. It's not something as cheap as a hamster either. When I originally bought mine they were $200, though now I have aquired one worth that much on her own.

that depends on the particular animal. Some people I know have had luck with it, others haven't. I haven't really attempted it with mine, they are friendly enough to come to me when I extend my hand to them. They'll hop off the top shelf of their cage and jump onto my hand.
