Chinchillas don't release dander of any sort either, so many people that are allergic to animals don't have problems with Chinchillas. Their urine doesn't smell like other rodents either.
You do have to watch out for fur slip though which happens when they get nervous. They can release the fur from their skin in order to make them slippery so they can get away.
I could make so many jokes about the 'fur slip' thing...but this is a familyforum!
Nice to see you TZ........ I was telling my daughter, who posts on here, about you having chinchilla's ....she thought they must be a really exotic kind of animal pet to own!
