Default Cat Brushing...

Everyone here knows just about everything about my cat...except that she HATES to be brushed...she bites it and smacks it and meows like I'm killing her when I try...

Since it's HER decision if she wants to sit on the lap, trying to pick her up and keep her on my lap while I'm brushing her is just a "no-go" for her...she takes right off...

Any suggestions?

Don't brush her. Most cats are pretty well groomed by themselves anyway. I don't think cats are as easily trained as dogs.

i just wouldn't brush her. i never gave my cats (used to have 2 cats) baths or a brushing. cats keep themselves clean and groomed on their own. that's the wonderful thing of owning a cat IMO.

I guess I just worry about fur balls...So often after she's washed, she looks up and there is fur drooping out of her mouth; she even hates that being 'swiped' off...

i think they sell food she could eat that helps with the fur balls. i used to feed my cats Iams. there wasn't too many fur balls. it did go down after i fed them that food. that was years ago though. they might have better stuff out there now. i'd ask a pet store.
