One book I found to be very helpful is "Divorce Poison" by Dr. Richard A. Warshak. It talks about how to preserve your relationship with your children when your ex tries to turn them against you. It also points out behavior that some parents might not even realize is hurtful to their children.

Unfortunately, many divorced couples use their children as pawns in some sick game to get back at each other for the hurt they feel. What these people don't realize is this is not parenting, it's teaching vindictiveness, spite, and a host of irrational behavioral patterns.

It's not uncommon either for the older children to become marriage counselors or relationship therapists during this time.
