Just a thought here (and pr0lly a silly one) but there has been much in the way of members wanting to meet members and discussion on where to meet. The issue of course always comes down to finances so just out of curiosity, would everyone be into opening a new personal bank account and depositing a set amount of dollars/month to use at a later date for a Lifesupporters.com meet?

Now don't panic, I'm not asking for your money; I'm just curious if you folks thought it would be a good idea to start personal saving accounts for plane tickets so we can all meet somewhere? Maybe we all put aside $20-$30/month in a separate personal account to use at a later date on a plane ticket to the Bahamas or some other central meeting place?

Anyway, I thought it was a nifty idea because $20 isn't too much money and it would only take a few years to save up enough for a ticket (especially if booked a year in advance).

Actually, what would be even cooler is if we could invest this set limit of dollars together and watch our stock as it grows. This would be a great way for us to all get a little insight into the stock market while working toward a common goal.

Thoughts?

Sorry about that, but this company is going to explode. Anyhoo - that would be an awesome idea, and I would actually do that too! Who else would be down?

did it IPO yet? last i saw it was still waiting on ipo i thought. if it did do you know the ticker symbol? its on TSX right? or will be.

definitions for those who just had ??? with what i said.

IPO= inital public offering, which is the money raised by a companies selling stock on the market to shareholders.

ticker symbol=the 3 or 4 letter abbreviation for the stock

TSX= toronto stock exchange.

I like dukes idea of putting money in an account for the meet. only way we can all save enough, i dont think we should play the stock market with the money cause it wont be enough to make a significant difference in our money.

I think you are right DA. Unless of course you are Weiser are expert enough of the stockmarket, to make the necessary money in a few seconds ...

I am no expert on stocks, but I do know that you can make a lot of money now if you play your cards right.

They did the IPO a couple weeks ago I believe....I'm pretty sure anyways considering all the damn stock certificates I had to make.

The TSX symbol is CVR.

It is trading at .45 a share right now, and it's going to be nuts. Since the IPO is done now I am considering buying into it as well. We'll just have to see how this bonus goes in the next couple weeks.

Basic low down of this company - it has technology to get oil out of places that no one else can. It's also the only company that holds the licenses for this technology. The company has no debt and owns everything outright. It is partnered with a major oil company in Saudi Arabia too (don't ask me the name cause I can't remember) so all the major footwork with getting itself established over there will not be hard at all.

Like I said, this is going to be a great investment and I wish I had a lot of money to invest in it.

Another thing....And I wish I was rich because I would so buy a ton of these shares,

but my company (Olympia Financial Group TSX symbol OLY), when I started in May of 07, had it's shares trading at $18 / share. They are now trading at $40 / share. That's pretty big growth over just over a year - and it's going no where but up. When we get our federal charter in the next few months, it's only going to increase our share price.

I just started the ESOP (employee share ownership program) at my one year mark, and everything that I put in is matched by the company up to 5% of my salary. I wish it would be more, like 10% like some of the brokers, but I guess I can't complain. Free money is free money.

So, if you have loads of money to invest, check out OLY.

I like the idea but have other issues that might prevent me from opening a separate savings account at this time. I will figure something out.

cool, thanks, .45 is so cheap, ill have to do some more research, but considering even $5 is a 10x increase it would be really hard to not build a large stake and get rich.
