Default Why do I love him? Let me count the ways...

Ever have days where you would rather have to validate your feelings for murdering your SO than to explain your love?

I was having one of those mornings so I decided to make a list of all my BF's goodies to remind me when I'm SERIOUSLY POd exactly why we are tog. in the 1st place.

Also- this could be an idea swap on sweet things we can do for our SOs.

1- The way he talks to his kitten when no one is around.

2- He can cook!

3- He respects me and everyone/everything I love... even if he doesn't like or understand them/it.

4- He warms up my car before I get in.

5- He can shop for me style, sizes, etc... and he's willing to shop WITH me which even some fo my friends find daunting LOL

6- He'll distract me from seeing roadkill and points out lil critters he thinks will make me happy

Default Grumph...guess I should participate in this thread....hrmph

yeah, so my fiance and I are having problems. I'm actually on here from my mom's house. *sigh* Darn it, I'm just not ready to give him up!

1. he washes dishes

2. he still kisses me and holds me like he did over a year ago. (we've been together 1 1/2 years).

3. he's a hard worker and comes home tired, but he still has time to listen to me

4. he gives great advice, and he's always on my side (when other people are involved  )

5. (maybe this should be first) I feel the exact same way he does.

6. He's got a BIG ...personality tee hee. What? 8)

7. alright, so he has to wear a magnum. That's not the only reason I stay, though... 8O

7. He always lets me play xbox first.

8. He's the most gentle person I've ever met

9. He's smart, and that's sexy, too...

10. He never lets me win when we wrestle...one day I'll beat him...for sure, next time...right. (wow, in what context could you use this smiley? Is that the decepticon smiley?)

11. He likes my quirks. Like skipping from topic to topic like a bad CD.

12. He's my home.

did you see anywhere about "ability to save money and buy fiance engagement ring, or get out of our current living situation? (our neighbors got busted for creating a meth lab in the back of their car. *big, unhappy, suburban-raised-girl sigh*

sorry. don't mean to sound snappish. i'm just confused and angry at myself and the world. maybe I should go blow some bubbles. that always cheers me up. or, maybe I'll just post in the creative forum.

Oh, and lack of personal ambition.

hmmm let's see if i can remember anything about why i love hubby so (it's been 15 years!)....

1. He's an awesome daddy to his girls

2. He's an excellent provider and a hard worker

3. He puts the kids and I before himself

4. He's sensitive

5. He's compasionate

6. Although I HATE to admit this, he is usually right about everything.

7. I know he loves me with all of his heart and soul....he would give me the moon if he could.

I know there's more but I can't think of them at this time. I guess that list makes up for washing his stinking underwear and picking up his clothes off the floor......

Well yellow, at least you have someone. There are many of us who don't and even when I did I'd be lucky if I could fill half of that list.

I'm sure if I wanted I could hook up with a gal but I'm really not into it. I seem to get substance but no spark or no substance but plenty of phsical but never healthy doses of both.

Oh, and lack of personal ambition.
HAHA Fayebelle.....I sold my first engagement ring to my Dad so I could buy a color TV and a pool table. A ring didn't mean that much to me. Howevr, it means a great deal to a lot of other women. Maybe he doesn't understand the difference between the two. Sit him down and say 'LOOK....I can't wear a decent place to live on my finger!'. Be blunt and perhaps he'll begin to understand.

Now the lack of personal ambition can be a point of contest for years to come. It's something you see as a character failure (same as I would) which can cause you to know a part of him you don't particularly respect. (Such as in Samson's marriage problems). It's probably not a characteristic you will ever change in him....so you have to weigh out if you can live with it. The way you feel about it now in terms of overlooking it ...and the way you'll feel about it after having 3 kids with him....may not be one and the same.

Financial cohesiveness is VERY important in order for a marriage to work. You don't have to have lots of money.....but you have to agree on how to budget what you have and plan together on how to make more of it.

I don't mean that in a cold way. Most people divorce due to the initial stresses of financial problems. I think every couple , early on, should sit down and make a plan together. It's okay if the plan is changes or doesn't work....then you make a new plan. The emphasis is making any plans as a team. If he goes one way and you go another way....it's a recipe for disaster.

sorry Merika- this is YL's deal

Faye wants a giant honeymoon or 1st home more than a big diamond

However YL wants a ring and she has made this fact known- he has "other priorities" for his $

IMHO- they just aren't on the same page in many places. In fact I think her BF may be using the Cliffs Notes of her book hoping it'll get him thru.
