What's the longest amount of time you've been single?

I know that some of us are single. I was wondering for how long and what exactly appeals to them staying single.

For those whom are in a relationship, what's the longest amount of time of staying single? Why? How was it?

I was single once for 33 years. Ok, I guess I had a few girlfriends mixed in there. I guess the longest I went without a significant other would be a few years, but it seemed like forever.

I was single for a year (had a secret crush on a guy way older than me, but was too chicken to actually date the guy).

After moving out, the longest period of time was... 6 months. I don't know how I do it, but when I'm single, I work a lot, party a lot, do lots of activities. When I get involved in a new relatioship, at least the first 4 months... I'm like paralized. Like all my energy is sucked out of me.

If I ever break up with my bf, I won't date unlesss I had everything planned out by the hour (I'm kiddin' myself, I embody the definiton on impulsivity :helmuthead: )

I think the longest time I was single for was only 6 months. Of course that was many many moons ago.

I've been single for 6-7 years and have loved every minute of it. I don't know if being married is all that bad.....just being married to HIM was all that bad! Stupid AssClown of a Dead Beat Dad!!!!

That's a lot nicer than how my kid's refer to him. If a man can walk out on his kids for 5 years, show up for a short while with endless apologies and then walk out on them again (I mean no phone calls, no cards, no way to find him).....he's an A$$!

I can't believe I married someone like that. I totally do not trust my judgement after being that far off. Therefore, I wouldn't remarry without a burning bush signal from God Himself.

and yeah duke really. I have dated, but never called anyone my gf, well actually thats not true, i was this one girl's bf for 7 mins on a dare, but i dont count that.
