My Thoughtful Husband
Today is our 41st Anniversary. I got up to have a cup of coffee and get my bath ready. He says "wait a minute, I want you to look at something first!" On the table is a beautifully wrapped present (he's the BEST wrapper of presents on this entire globe) and a card. I go to open the card first and he says, "No, go for the gift". So I slowly start to unwrap his gift to save the paper, and he says "Just tear it off." I had never seen him so anxious for me to open any of my presents before..then he adds "I want to see if it's the RIGHT thing." Still having no clue to what it could be, I open it up and find the most beautiful book on Wolves I had EVER seen. I burst into tears and am crying right now as he says "Now I know it's the right one, it took me two years to find it." I had seen it advertised on Television two years ago, said I was going to get it, and being me, just went on to something else. I leafed through it, and it IS the most amazing book on Wolves I have seen! The card was SO beautiful as well, and the tears are just flowing. I am SO deeply, deeply touched!
Forty-one years! Daily growing and loving a man more deeply each day! If this isn't a God-given Miracle to me, and the beautiful children and grandchildren as Gifts, I don't know what is! I am SO humbly Grateful!

Re: My Thoughtful Husband
Thanks, everyone! Pretty happy day considering it was the first day back to Work after a wonderful, peaceful vacation.
He loves tools, and as soon as he picks out the new Saw he wants, that will be his gift from me. I understand men have to pick their own tools, so I'd rather get him what he wants EXACTLY then get him something useless that he would have to return anyway.
We've been known to get just one item that we both could use and buy it before, after, and it's not usual that we have something to open on the exact date. I think last year it was a porta-potti for camping.

Re: My Thoughtful Husband
I actually know hand/power tools really well Luba. If you ever need advice to surprise him let me know, I can point you in the right direction.

Thank you deeply, IR, that means a lot to me!
Since returning to his Workplace, there are a few things to be done since he's been away on vacation, so I'll ask him this weekend what kind of Saw he is really talking about.

Re: My Thoughtful Husband
When it comes to name brands, I choose this order.
Milwaukee - They last FOREVER!!!!!!, heavy though.
Makita - Probably the best balance between weight and durability.
Dewalt - Really not any better than Makita, but heavier and they cost more (in general).
You will find some debate about Makita vrs Dewalt based on some personal experience.
Less expensive brands.
Bosch - good mix of reliability and quality.
Hitachi - Lightweight and very durable.
Porter Cable - Decent durability, BUT they have cheapened up quite a bit lately, so beware. Used to be a top notch tool in cost and quality.
If you ever want to outright surprise your husband, find out what type of cordless drill he has, grab one of the batteries, head to the tool store, and buy him a Cordless Impact Driver to match his set. He will Never quit using it because they are so handy :P
