I, too, found this posting very thought-provoking!
What I found in my life is that just when I thought I was where I want to be and had all the answers for my life, more challenges came up that brought up painful memories that I thought I had dealt with!
I met this new friend that is teaching me about dealing with pain, she is going through some severe challenges. She is going 'from one end to the other with it". I am trying that, for I was one to try and put a "positive" spin on everything, I find now that it doesn't always work, for what I thought I had figured out is coming back to bite me again.
Even though I do love the person I am now, I know I've just put a bandaid on some heavy pain.
Now when a difficult situation arises and some old feeling of pain returns, I just let it come, invite it in and feel it through! I've tried it with people who push my buttons, and I've been told they are our greatest teachers, and I believe they are. They are the ones that bring some unresolved issue that hasn't been dealt with!
It's still a new process, but it's working for me. For the longest time I couldn't cry, and I didn't know why. Since I've been allowing myself to really "feel" the pain, my tears are flowing again, the dam has burst!
I am finding a peace I have truthfully never known before!
