I'm posting this as a reply to the original thread....because I may have to delete portions of it later.
Tomorrow, Isis has her first 'car date' with a boy. She is close enough to 16 and he seems like a really nice young man. She liked him after hearing him sing at one of the competitions. He is a senior, but like her, he sings opera at their high school, is in the Latin Club and they have other interests (politics and history) which most young kids don't have. LOL!
They are going to dinner and a movie. She is very excited and has tried on everything in every closet in our house.
She will be inviting him to join here and if he does .....I'll remove portions of this post. Until then though.....I wanted to share since it's a special time for her....and for me too. I'm happy for her.

As it turns out....the boy called this morning (at 6:00 AM) to tell Isis he had to leave for Oklahoma due to his mother being ill. (He lives with his Dad here.) They were both disappointed...but will stay in touch while he is gone this next week.
I guess even in teenage love......life sometimes does it's own thing.

I remember alright. Awful fellow. Was 4 years older. The first guy that ever kissed me. We went out for 2 months I think... I was 14. No restaurants for me, LOOL, we were taking long walks in the park, talking etc. I dumped him because at one time he'd stop calling me or giving me news for a whole week - we were in the summer before his senior year.
Apparently he had to help his parents at their summer house and he was too proud to tell me that the summer before his big year he was working and not having fun like the other kids. Irrespective of what I thought or felt (we used to see eachother almsot daily, were living 2 roads appart).
Got mad and dumped him. Again, he was too proud to say he was sorry or that he had made a mistake. Well, that should serve him right!

My first real date...hrmm...which one was that? LOL.
Oh, I think I was probably 14 or 15. I had met a boy through another boy, developed a slight crush at him for about one day. On that day, his parents picked us up and we went to the Greenbrier hotel, and I remember ordering just what his mother had- she was a sweet person.
On the way back, I found myself crushing more on his brother Chris then him. The problem was Chris was 2 years younger then I was. He was handsome and blonde.
Since that period of times, I have always been attracted to younger men- especially if they are blond. That set the trend that lasts to my current relationship with Beanie.
